For the same reason God created you and me:
so that we might share in His eternal life.
Well said!

There seems to be an idea going around here that is it better not to be conceived than to be conceived and die before birth. There is no proof for such an assertion.

Assuming labels don’t lie, you’ve answered the OP’s question then. An all loving god does indeed create new human life and does indeed permit it to be aborted. I understand your position.

I just don’t think that position merits explanatory power or contains any practical value because it denies the ability to make judgments and conclusions based on observations.
It does no such thing, no more so than any other question about God. The only way such questions would have no value would be if you were already committed to a belief in the nonexistence of God. This question is simply “Why does this God do that?” which is always useful.

Because you do not need god to make a baby in a womb. Just two consenting opposite gender adults?

You do need God to make a baby.

And by the way, “gender” is a property of grammatical entities. When speaking of humans, the proper word is “sex.”

Okay, all, help me out here.

Aren’t we co-creators with God? We create the child using the biological laws that God has set down. Egg is fertilized and implants, and God imbues the child with a soul at the moment of conception.

So the answer to the question of why would God create a baby knowing it would be aborted is that the couple, exercising their free will, were co-creators of that baby with God. If certain biological laws are met then there is a potential for conception.

Is this right?

We could well ask why God allows babies to be conceived to crack addicts or teenage girls or poor parents. Indeed why would He allow anyone less than perfect to have kids?

The mystery of love and sex producing a the gift of new life is God-ordained. Even when that process is separated from the setting (marriage) in which it truly belongs, it still proceeds as planned because that is the natural way God designed our bodies to behave.

Gravity always pulls down on matter, water always flows downhill and the sun always rises in the east. God’s creation tends to follow the patterns or laws He created for them despite man’s imperfections. That’s just the nature of God’s handiwork.

Why would an all loving God create a child in the mothers womb knowing that she is going to have an abortion?
“why” is such a natural, but fatal word to use when we don’t understand something, especially in matters of theology. If we knew the why’s and how’s and when’s and what’s of the universe we would a) be God ourselves and b) have no need to ask the questions to start with.

Point being: There is a God and you are not Him, therefore you are impossible of being able to fully understand the things that He understands.

Isaiah puts it well, “His way are not our ways, nor His thoughts our thoughts”. Accept that and move on with living your life with kindness and compassion.

Peace…

I said the same. Maybe you’ve said it better. God has put natural law into place (includings laws of the natural sciences). If conception is going to happen, then God does not step in with an “over-ridng veto” because He knows that the parents will choose abortion. Science might dictate a conception, God provides the soul. God’s will is STILL eternal life for that soul.
