I am an old school Catholic. Knew the mass in Latin, etc. Catholic school, the whole deal.
I questioned the Church after Vat II. Does anyone remember chapel veils, altar rails, etc.
I fell away after the changes. After all, I was taught the Church was one way and then it changed. I was confused.
So now, after much soul-searching, I am hoping to return the Church; however, I am married to a man who now requires an annulment for me to rejoin my faith and the Sacraments. He is non-Catholic, non-baptized in any faith and was married the first time at the age of 18. My question, I thought I was married to a non-Catholic and the marriage was not valid in the Catholic Church: when did his staus matter to mine as a Catholic?
So at my advanced age, I have to wait for an annulment on my non-Catholic, non-baptized
husband’s former marriage. Give me Faith and your prayers. Help me to understand.
Thank-you. If this is the wrong forum, please advise.
