Hi Cyril,

How is it going with you? I haven’t been here much myself but came on tonight and saw this thread. Your last post is still mostly how I feel about it in my life too (want to be Catholic but due to marriage commitment, am hindered!).

I too have been doing my darnest to leave it in God’s hands. Did you stop going to Mass? I’ve been to the place a couple years or more now where I simply can’t handle it without the Eucharist in my life. I truly feel Jesus has called me back to my Catholic faith. The hardest thing about it all for me is still being in the protestant church as well, yet I still believe that is the right thing to do by my marriage. At least for now, until further divine notice.

Perhaps that advice for you to back off on it was to see if you truly are to become Catholic? I really don’t have any answers as I struggle with the same issues as you, except my wife is seemingly much more tolerant to it. You may be long gone, but if you ever read this, I’d love to hear how you are doing.

Best,
HA

Dear Hereagain,

Thank you for trying to reach out and connect with me—for following up on my current situation and showing concern. I’ll be keeping my post brief and to the point(I hope you don’t mind):
•“How is it going with you?”
My wife accepts my catholic faith and intention to convert. She is not going to divorce me. Catholicism has a permanent presence in my home now. I’m not yet a catholic.
•“Your last post is still mostly how I feel about it in my life too (want to be Catholic but due to marriage commitment, am hindered!).”
Thanks for sharing. I’d love to hear more about your situation in private if you are willing to share.
