So absolutely true.He said he didn’t understand why any woman would want to work outside the home. He then goes on to reference his mother as an example of someone that apparently enjoyed it. So by his logic all women should have this inborn need to be the Leave It To Beaver mom.
He seems to be of the mindset that all women should have a collective, synchronized desire to be some subservient doting housewife that all enjoy cooking, cleaning, lying on their backs, and raising children while their manly husbands support them. That is absurd, and I can cite a hundred examples of why that is dangerous worldview.
While it’s true both men and women have biological differences that make it easy to generalize about gender (I do it all the time) but we are all individuals with our own personalities, thoughts, and feelings. Humans are complex- we have this weird way of changing; our feelings, thoughts, perceptions, and even beliefs change over the course of our lives. Our environment and culture help shape who we are as well.
Anyway- just because one woman loves being a house wife doesn’t mean her sister does. But both of their opinions could change in the future.
Women are human. They’re not just baby making machines with a dust buster that only exist to serve men- even if traditional men (and some women) wish that were so.
