Is this a question that bothers anyone else? Eternity is a very long time or No-Time either way. It is forever. Will we ever be bored in heaven or a guess I should say the new earth.

If heaven by definition is where you cannot be happier…what do you think?

There’s your mission - prove me mistaken 🙂.
Start with the CCC perhaps.

I don’t want to prove you mistaken. I don’t want it to be boring. It was just a question. I guess I am looking for answers from people that have thought about Heaven and what it will be like or what the church teaches. Thanks

If heaven is boring, then that person should go to hell. He would probably has more to do there that he ever want and to keep him occupied. haha.

Seriously, we are new creatures in heaven where we would have no blues, no melancholy, not bored,no negativity but as being shown in the Book of Revelation, the saints are worshipping God unceasingly face to face.

This probably is hard to understand if you do not know what it is meant by being with God our Creator. St. Augustine says it, “My soul will not rest until it rest in You, my Creator.”

The Psalmist says it, “Like a deer that pines for the water, and so my soul longs for you, O Lord.”

We long to be with our Lord, not being separated from Him, to find our eternal rest. The only thing that satisfies us eternally.

In the afterlife (Heaven, Purgatory or Hell) you are a Spiritual Human Soul. You do not enter any of these areas in physical human form.
Revelation 22:3 (RSVCE)

3 There shall no more be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall worship him;
Human issue’s such as boredom should not be an issue.

No, Heaven will always seem new you.New things blooming, new music , being free from all duties, etc.

An Unpublished Manuscript on Purgatory:

I am going to try to make you understand, as far as you can upon earth, what Heaven is like. There are ever new feasts which succeed each other without interruption. There is happiness, always new and such, it would seem, as has never been enjoyed. It is a torrent of joy which flows unceasingly over the elect. Heaven is above all and beyond all — GOD: God loved, God relished, God delighted in; in one word, it is to be satisfied with God without ever being satisfied!

The more a soul loves God on earth, the higher she advances in perfection, the more she will love and understand God in Heaven.

Jesus is the true joy upon earth and the eternal felicity of Heaven.

No.
Have you ever been happily drunk? Have you ever spent the day with a person you were madly in love with?
One is not bored then even though you might just be sitting on your couch.

Heaven is going to be 1,000,000,000 x infinity better than that. And there will likely be new things to learn and lots of stuff to do, including prayer and praising and celebrating and being with loved ones and walking through beautiful worlds.

Catechism (on Heaven)
1027 This mystery of blessed communion with God and all who are in Christ is beyond all understanding and description. Scripture speaks of it in images: life, light, peace, wedding feast, wine of the kingdom, the Father’s house, the heavenly Jerusalem, paradise: “no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him.”
Revelation
21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and death shall be no more, nor mourning, nor crying, nor sorrow shall be any more, for the former things are passed away.

Where did you ever get the idea that it would be boring? Do you really think God is calling us to heaven to be bored? No one knows what it will be like except that it will be better than anything you can imagine.

At His right hand ✝️ are pleasures forever.

There will be no boredom.

My children when they were little were told by our priest that in heaven we would be gazing upon the face of God for all eternity.
They looked at each other, and one finally said “well. Doesn’t he have a fine opinion of Himself!”
🤣🤣🤣

We had a good laugh. God is good. Heaven is beyond our wildest dreams. It’s in Scripture even.
Make plans to be there.
All will be well.

Consider that God created us (specifically) to abide with him in heaven … we were made for heaven and would be there now except for that whole unfortunate Adam and Eve incident.

Soooo… if you were not made for the earth, yet you can find a reasonable level of happiness on the earth after being booted out of the Garden of Eden after the Fall… how much MORE happy do you think you will be when you are reunited with God your Father in your home … the home you were expressly created for, or “designed” to enjoy? Boredom? I think not.

Let your reason tell you.

The reason we get bored is because we think too highly of ourselves…our intellect, our need for stimulation, our wants and preferences.

We actually get bored from a lack of love!

We’d never get bored of our boring neighbor if we had more love, and put more energy into our friendship with them.

So there will be no lack of love in heaven, because we will be fused in some mystical way with the source of all Love, God Himself.

Ergo, we will not be bored in heaven.

Considering how tormenting an eternity of boredom would be, I can imagine Hell as boring–eternal separation from God, utter isolation, darkness and loneliness, no hope.

Boredom is usually caused by ingratitude. No, it will not be boring. If anything, it will take an adjustment to live in a situation so constantly breath-taking. One must be very comfortable with praise, awe and thanksgiving in order to stand it, I would think.

Think of the most splendid places in the world, the world’s wonders. Would you ever get tired of Victoria Falls, of the Grand Canyon? These places are dust in comparison to the glory of God.

No, you won’t be bored. You will be in constant exultation, joy and yet in all-encompassing security of heart, mind and soul, too, worry not.

Well, except that we ought to all worry we have been too lukewarm or self-centered to enter into it, that is all. To be capable of living with the saints as a saint is a high bar. We ought to be concerned about how we’ll get there, not whether or not we will like the place that suits the best of what we were created to be in every detail.

No hope, no gratitude, no savor in what is good, no comaraderie, no future. That is far worse than boring, even if it is more grounded in reality.

To be bored is to be in a lukewarm state. There will be none of that after the Final Judgment. It will be either hot or cold, but there will be no indifferent states available.
