I recommend you sit in a different pew if you find yourself visually distracted.

I am not sure what you mean by the priest concentrating on the female body…

Sincerely,

Maria1212
I made a mistake in my post. I meant to write not on the female body. I tend to type very fast but my brain goes faster than my fingers.

I could sit in a different place but as you know, women are still not very modest in their dress when they come to church. I just figure that it doesn’t matter where I sit. It could happen anywhere.

I am not a prude. I just think that catholic women need to be reminded that they are in church and not at the boardwalk.

Why is this a problem? Pious Roman Catholics wear medals and scapulars on a daily basis.
Yes, but we don’t stick our sacramentals “where the sun don’t shine.” That’s what Fruit of the Looms are for.

Bizarre.

A heretical cultlike belief that believes you have to wear some type of special garment in temple.

There is no justification for the belief. i’m sure it was just something joseph smith likes, so he decided that he would add it to his religion. Just as mohammad who hated dogs, and now in hadiths it is a sin to have dogs. These people just have their own personal views and try and inherit it into a religion, not explaining why, or what advantage it might have.

This is not about Mormonism but…

I want to correct you on this. Prophet Muhammad did not hate dogs. He loved all animals and if I recollect the phrase correctly, he even said that someone who gives water to a thirsty dog will have a place in heaven.

Hadith means what the Prophet did in his daily life. He might not have had a dog but this doesn’t mean that it is a sin to have one.

There are people who misinterpret and intentionally or unintentionally misrepresent information about various religions. It’s very easy to judge but I think it is best for us if we try to find the truth before condemning. I’m not usually a person who comments and corrects people about religion. But it bothered me that you spoke about Muhammad this way. He was a prophet, just like Abraham, Moses and Jesus. I believe in them all and I wish everyone could realize the fact that we belong to the same religion and believe and follow the prophets sent to us by the same God. Anyone who reads the holy books of the three Abrahamic religions will know that this is the truth.

Peace!

I am surprised that no one has mentioned the specific instructions on when one can go with out their garments. If I remember correctly, I was told one has to wear them all the time except for the 4 "S"s; shower, swimming, sports and sex (with your spouse of course).

That is another difference between the garments and other things. One is required to wear them 24/7 outside of the four "S"s. The fact that it is a requirement is the big deal. If you don’t follow the requirement, you go down several notches in the faith. No temple, no sacrament, no … fill in the blank.

Wow, I see that!

I didn’t even notice 🤷

Oh well, the comment is still true though. Thanks to the person who revived it for the one Islam comment I guess. 👍

Hi there & welcomoe to CAF

Bring up a 4 year old thread is against the rules…

Anyway, if you wish to discuss Mohamad & dogs, please start a new thread.

And yes, the prophet of islam did not like dogs and he also had them killed, especially the black ones because he felt all black dogs represented satan.

Anyway, start a new thread & we can discuss Mohamad & dogs.

Thanks!
