I remember years ago listening to the then governor of Pennsylvania stand up in opposition to his own party and be a voice for the unborn. We need leaders like that today in all political parties. If a political party does not recognize that they came from the womb they will not stand the test of time.

Please do not vote for a political party dedicated to killing children.

Is there a catholic party out there ? My feeling about politicians of all persuasions is they will say anything to get your vote so they can get into office. Once they are in office - whoa

I only know of one “Catholic” running on a major ticket right now. For the sake of his own salvation we need to pray that the Bishops formally excommunicate him.

There was a group that was trying to start up an American Christian Democratic Party, but their website has been down for quite some time. For anyone from the Austin, Texas area, one of the organizers has attempted to start a “Meetup Group:” cdu.meetup.com/1/, although that also seems to be moribund. May if the Texas group blossoms, the idea will spread? I know Meetup Groups have had some success with regard to the Ron Paul campaign - here in Idaho, they have managed to get one of their proposals into the Republican platform (relating to the gold standard and Federal Reserve). Perhaps a strong contingent of CD meetup groups would have some success as well?

I also see the idea has been mentioned at catholicknight.blogspot.com/2008/02/proposed-platform-for-christian.html (if I’m not mistaken, I believe Catholic Knight is a CAF poster as well - if so, maybe he can weigh in on this too).

I second the motion.

They most certainly would if the voting age were lowered to conception. How many of voting age, and sound mind, would vote for themselves to be aborted?

Will The Unborn Have A Voice At Political Conventions? Not at the one that is going on right now. I would go into cardiac arrest if a Pro-life Democrat group was allowed to speak at the convention. I would also be shocked if the sanctity of life in the Womb would ever be talked about in those surroundings. Maybe there are those groups outside, but no voice from the inside.

I’m guessing there will be at least one BOGUS prolifer who will speak. One of the “I’m personally against abortion, but…” people.
