My husband asked me to read the "Left Behind"series.Personally,through accurate self survey,I thought ,according to the "book"standard,I would be left behind As far as "taking the chip"or mark
I saw myself “underground”,battling the anti-christ right along with the protestants.(Catholics-were portrayed as “corrupted”.(Very Bad Bishop-)
My vision is not as glib as portrayed in that series in other words I’m not stuck with “Sola Scriptura”,
interps of the end times.I have our Church sanctioned cannons(Scripture)Sacred Tradition(history-passed down from the apostles)
and the teaching Magesterium of the church.( actively guided by the Holy Spirit)
I hope whatever the perspective ,we love God and throw in together when and how the poop hits the fan.

I most assuredly can say that the anti-christ would not be so blatantly open to such novelties that are so obvious. The deception would have to be so subtle that most persons would not even realize they had taken the mark, if that is possible.

The easiest, and simplest way would be to be blatantly obvious about what was to be done, but wrap it in something that makes people want to do it voluntarily.

The only subtle thing is to prevent people from realizing the full implications of taking the mark, prior to them making that choice.

Jury nullification is form of rescinding laws that are oppressive, unconsciousable, or otherwise unwarranted. It is a check against the abuse and tyranny of governmental authority.

To describe it as “the law becomes secondary”, is to demand that one accept any and all abuse thrown at one by anybody, or anything that claims authority, regardless of the legitimacy of that authority.

I will grant that freedom terrifies, if not petrifies people, because it requires that which they do have the courage of — personal responsibility and autonomy.

as you can see there will e a little bit more punishment than just not being able to buy and sell. because the only reason to refuse to get the mark is that you are loyal to God and Christ and refuse to submit to Satin even if you could not buy and sell you still refused so now you die.

The thing is, would God really send us to hell for getting a microchip in our hand that is for buying and selling? There are people who think that this kind of electronic device would be “the mark of the beast” and are willing to let their families starve instead of getting a little chip in their hand. I disagree completely that a microchip designed to allow the government to control commerce could be a mortal sin to receive, unless it required us to make some positive act of worship to a false God. There’s nothing idolatrous about just receiving a chip that is used for finances.

Depending upon how “positive act of worship” is defined, that might be required.
One simple example would be swearing allegiance only to the government, and rebuking all other authority.

That pair of verses has been used as scriptural justification for the rejection of artificial organs, and/or use of other devices into the body.

Additionally, there are a string of arguments from Traditional Catholic Theology that explain why microchipping is a sin.

Some theologians and scholars that I have read from say the (“Second Coming”) began when the Apostles were gathered in the Upper Room and the Holy Spirit descended upon them. However; the completion of God’s word and work hear on earth with humans has not reached it’s apex maturity which is a given. Of all this is speculative.

This new age stuff is really upsetting me. It will not be a chip, people. When the Bible says that it will be in the head and hand, it means that people will accept it in their mind (conscience) and willfully. We must not interpret the Bible according to modern times. We must respect and consider the times in which the Apocalypse was written. Like the name of the book suggest, the Book is in Apocalyptic language, which was very popular and symbolic in John’s time. It is not to be taken literally. I doubt there will be literal 7 headed beasts.

It would be kind of cool to have a 7 headed beast! We could sell tickets!

While most ancient Greek manuscripts of the New Testament have the number “six hundred sixty-six” in Rev 13:18, some ancient manuscripts contain the alternate reading “six hundred sixteen” (616), which might well be the older or original reading of this text.
A branch of biblical scholarship called “textual” criticism deals with such issues, trying to determine which variant was more likely the original reading. If the text originally said 666, how and why was it changed to 616 in later manuscripts? Or vice-versa, if the original text was 616, how and why was it later changed to 666?
The proposal that 616 is the older and better reading of Rev 13:18 was recently bolstered by some newly published Oxyrhynchus Papyri.
The Oxyrhynchus Papyri website also has a discussion of Numerology, but opposes the application to Nero.

The change from “616” to “666” can easily be explained, especially if the historical reference was originally to Emperor Nero.
The final letter “nun” is optional in the Hebrew spelling of Nero. Thus, NRW QSR would be 50+200+6+100+60+200 = 616.
If this was the original reading, it is easy to see how the text of Rev 13:8 would have been changed to “666,” due to its more highly symbolic value (since “6” represents lack or incompleteness, in contrast to the number “7” representing completion, the triple 666 represents evil more clearly than 616.)
