A person who follows Jesus all the way to the cross. The closer to the cross the more the book is opened.Hi Benadam, I’m sorry, I read what you wrote here but I have no idea as to what your saying, "people being predestined? " “people who live the words?” “be a privilage to be a witness to such a life?” I’m sorry I have no idea what you mean .ED O.
Dear Ed, I hope i apologized for this remark. I just get frustrated with persons that won’t open their mind to greater depth.I like what you say here. ED O.
I would hope to have to grace to say no, if I know for sure it is the anti-Christ. If I did not know for sure and was questioning I would listen to the Church, if the Church can still be heard…Hypothetical:
The government mandates that all citizens receive a microchip in their hand to be used to buy and sell. All buying and selling will be illegal without this chip. The number in the chip is 666 followed by your social security number. If you do not get the chip, you can no longer buy or sell anything. Do you accept this chip?
Why are you or anyone on this thread concerned about accepting the Mark of the Beast? The born again believers will be raptured to meet Jesus in the sky prior to the antichrist and his mark of the beast system. 1 thes 4:15-18,very clearly states, “I can tell you this directly from the Lord: that we who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet Him ahead of those who are in their graves. v16 For the Lord himself will come from heaven with a mighty shout and with the soul-stirring cry of the archangel and the great trumpet-call of God. And the believers who are dead will be the first to rise to meet the Lord. v17 Then we who are still alive and remain on earth will be caught up with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with Him forever v18 So comfort and encourage each other with this news.”------Also Rev3:10 very clearly states,“Because you have patiently obeyed me despite the persecution, therefore I will protect you from the Great Tribulation and temptation, which will come upon the world to test everyone alive.”-------These verses tell me that I won’t be here on earth to face any anti-christ and his mark of the beast system. If you know that you are saved there’s nothing to be concerned about. God saved Noah and his family and Lot before judgement came, so why woudn’t he then save you? Unless your not sure that you are saved, then you better call upon the Lord to save you per Rom 10:13 before it’s too late! ED O.Posted by jlhargus

That is certainly one theory. There are others, that also use scripture they say shows the truth of their interpretation. Why are you or anyone on this thread concerned about accepting the Mark of the Beast? Now whether it is the CORRECT interpretation of scripture, I don’t know. I only need to make sure my lamp is full no matter whose interpretation is correct.

Problem is, he missed 1 Thess 15:16 Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be taken up together with them in the clouds to meet Christ, into the air, and so shall we be always with the Lord.
What day will the dead in Christ rise on?15 For the Lord himself shall come down from heaven with commandment, and with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead who are in Christ, shall rise first.
36 But I said unto you, that you also have seen me, and you believe not. 37 All that the Father giveth to me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me, I will not cast out. 38 Because I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 Now this is the will of the Father who sent me: that of all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing; but should raise it up again in the last day. 40 And this is the will of my Father that sent me: that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth in him, may have life everlasting, and I will raise him up in the last day.
There’s a lot more than this, but I think this cements the point pretty well. The dead in Christ will rise on the last day. So this tribulation, for the non-believers resulting from the raputre of all the believers is scriptually shaky. In fact, it doesn’t hold scriptual water. Just to futher make my point, let’s take the passage “left behind” comes from:41 The Jews therefore murmured at him, because he had said: I am the living bread which came down from heaven. 42 And they said: Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then saith he, I came down from heaven? 43 Jesus therefore answered, and said to them: Murmur not among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me, except the Father, who hath sent me, draw him; and I will raise him up in the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets: And they shall all be taught of God. Every one that hath heard of the Father, and hath learned, cometh to me.
You guys catch that description? As in the days of Noah, what happend to Noah? He was left behing, alive on earth, while the non-believers were taken by the waters of the flood. Noah was saved through the waters of the flood, just like we are saved through the waters of baptism. Left behind is fun fiction, but it’s unsound scripture.36 But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone. 37 And as in the days of Noe [Noah], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, even till that day in which Noe entered into the ark, 39 And they knew not till the flood came, and took them all away; so also shall the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then two shall be in the field: one shall be taken, and one shall be left.

It’s shaky at best, personally I feel it’s unsound. There is one and only one “last day”. That last day is the last day of the current heaven and current earth, i.e. the true end of the world as we know it. The day on which Jesus comes again in Glory to Judge the living and the dead, this is the reason why the dead in Christ rise first, then the beleivers who are left after all tribulations and everything else which will occur before the last day will finally meet Christ on his way back to earth for the second, and last time. It’s there my verse 16 is your verse 15

7 And to the angel of the church of Philadelphia, write: These things saith the Holy One and the true one, he that hath the key of David; he that openeth, and no man shutteth; shutteth, and no man openeth: 8 I know thy works. Behold, I have given before thee a door opened, which no man can shut: because thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. 9 Behold, I will bring of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie. Behold, I will make them to come and adore before thy feet. And they shall know that I have loved thee. 10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of the temptation, which shall come upon the whole world to try them that dwell upon the earth.
I choose Philidelphia for a reason, they’re the only perfect Church. The only one out of the seven that Christ really has aboslutly no problem with what so ever. But did you catch the ending of the letter? It’s the same as all the others! “He that shall overcome”. Overcome what? I thought they were going to get “caught up” in the clouds, aviod all that tribulation? Unless that’s not what’s going to happen, the tribulation is for us, for the body of Christ, for the bride of Christ, for the Church. We’re the target, it’s all over the bible! We’re the ones who need to overcome, we need to endure to the end.11 Behold, I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. 12 He that shall overcome, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and my new name. 13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
Problem, Noe or Noah really couldn’t be spirtually saved. Being spirtiually saved is what we got after Christ was crusified. It’s the pouring out of Gods grace upon the earth, like the blood and water coming from Christ’s peirced side. Noah was blessed by Christ. From noah’s loins would all us surviving members of humanity come (yes ultimatly from Adam and Eve, but they had a whole bunch of other childeren that never made it). Noah was saved by water, much again like we Christians are saved by being born again of Water and spirit (Johns baptism wasn’t a baptism of Spirit). Noah was saved because he was left behind on earth. Again, lets look at one more example Christ gives us:Matthew 24

Also like in the days of Lot Christ says in Luke 17, and again what happend? Lot was saved! How? He was left behind, here on earth. The residence of Sodom were taken, in fire and brimstone.28 Likewise as it came to pass, in the days of Lot: they did eat and drink, they bought and sold, they planted and built. 29 And in the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. 30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man shall be revealed.
No, I am not well versed in this. The only bible studies I did on it was in an Assembly of God Church. I have to say, I got really, really angry. In that study, it was the rapture theory and people were going on and on about praying for the rapture to come soon. That just made me so angry, I was crying and shaking.Hi Maria, I’m familiar with pre-trib, mid-trib and post-trib rapture. If there’s any other I would be very appreciative to know about it.

Personally I think it will be a chip, or something akin to one. A world wide totalitarian government would need a method of monitoring all its citizens, particularly in this age of potential terrorism.Sigh
This new age stuff is really upsetting me. It will not be a chip, people. When the Bible says that it will be in the head and hand, it means that people will accept it in their mind (conscience) and willfully. We must not interpret the Bible according to modern times. We must respect and consider the times in which the Apocalypse was written. Like the name of the book suggest, the Book is in Apocalyptic language, which was very popular and symbolic in John’s time. It is not to be taken literally. I doubt there will be literal 7 headed beasts.![]()

I have a booklet at home put out by the “Commission for the Future”, which was set up by the Australian Government back in the 80’s. It’s since been disbanded as far as I know.
This particular booklet deals with the “Cashless Society” and was chaired by a well known atheist over here, a bloke called Philip Adams. In the booklet, it was alleged an American think-tank of lawyers figured out, way back in the 1970’s, that the best way to keep tabs of citizens without their being aware of it was a cashless society. This means that every single transaction you make goes on a database. Any unusual or suspicious or questionable behaviour would be scrutinised by computer, just as for example the great majority of mobile phone calls are scrutinised even now.
We have for example Veri-chip: GPS monitors that are already used to keep track of criminals, either post-release, on pre-trial bail, or who may be subject to other restrictions:
US air force officers fire missiles at Taliban suspects in the mountains of Afghanistan from comfortable desks in California; mobile phone calls are monitored on a routine basis; spyware is widespread on the net; NSA is apparently involved in certain aspects of Operating Systems design, and we are moving towards a cash-less society, with more and more transactions on plastic every day.
Secondly a chip in the hand or head would be a lot harder to defraud than a plastic credit card, particularly if the information was tied to personal biological date eg. retinal scanners, DNA information or whatever.
Hi Bob, I agree wholeheartdley with what you present here. One would have to be living in fantacy land, if he can’t recognize what’s already taking place. Pets are being chipped and in some countries babies too. The cashless society is comming! What Tristan Cross states on post 150 doesn’t even make sense, as follows:So I think that in this case, there will be a literal “Mark of the Beast”. If a nuclear weapon goes off in the US or UK for example, courtesy of terrorists, the next step would be totalitarian control by governments who want to stop any more such acts. Imagine Adolf Hitler with today’s technology at his disposal
Hi crazzeto, in my chronology on post 153, for every statement that I had made, I gave a Scripture reference. Apparently you haven’t looked them up. Concerning the rapture which precedes the seven year Great Tribulation, 1Thes 4:15 states," According to the Lord’s own word (John 14:3), we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. v16 For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven , with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first, v17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, And so we will be with the Lord forever."------This Scripture alone refutes your theology. It specifically states that those who have been in their graves (in Christ saved born again believers) will arise and we who are alive at that time will go up TOGETHER to meet the Lord in the clouds.( He does not touch ground) -------Here’s another Scripture that refutes your theology Zech 14:5 states when the Lord comes he’s bringing back with Him the Holy ones. These are the born again believers that went up in the rapture because 1Thes 4:17 said the believers will be with the Lord forever…Posted by crazzeto
Ed: As I pointed out your Cronology violates scripture, you can’t get around the fact that no one will be getting “caught up” until the “dead in Christ rise”.
I very respectfully disagee with your theology. According to Scripture, at the end of Christ’s 1000 year reign, Satan will be loosed, gather an army to attack Jesus and His people in Jerusalem but God will consume him and his army by fire Rev 20:7-9 and send him to hell. Then the dead (people who were not saved) will arise for judgment and because they are not in the book of life will be cast to hell Rev 20:11-15. Then the earth will be purged by fire 2 Pet 3:7-13, Then the new heaven and earth with the new city of Jerusalem comes down from heaven Rev 21.This will be on the last day, thee last day of the current heavens and earth which will be supplanted by a new heaven and earth.
I never read the Left behind book so I can’t comment about it. What I state on my post 153 is Scripture chronolgy. ED O.the “left behind” theology violates the very examples from scripture from which the “left behind” book title was taken
Hi stopthependulum, it’s not clear as to whom you are addressing the above, but since it followed my post 153, I take it that it might mean me. When you say, “Jesus died and left the holy father in charge —NOT YOU!” My chronology of the End Time events does not tell you to take the mark. In fact, it tells you how to avoid it by going up in the rapture before the seven year Great Tribulation starts. ED O.Posted by stopthependulun
