I see a lot of people saying they are being confirmed this Easter season, so I thought I’d create a place for everyone to chime in and state whether they are being confirmed or not.

That way we can all check in and talk about the confirmations even after they’re all done.

So will you be confirmed within the next 2 months?

I can’t believe it has been a year since the Lord led me to Catholicism by having me find this awesome site.

God bless you all for the guidance and for forcing me to really think about what I believe.

So soon, I will be a Catholic, sealed to the Holy Ghost.

I hope you all are fireproof. If you think I’m on fire now… 🙂

Just a thought. I have the impression that a number of posters on other recent threads have referred to being “confirmed” this Easter when I wonder if technically they mean “the reception of baptized Christians into full communion” rather than baptized Catholics who will be completing their initiation by receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

May I suggest that those responding clarify which category they are in. Not trying to be nit picky here. Just thinking that otherwise the discussion may be a little confusing.

Hmm interesting point.

Do baptized Christians not get confirmed as well? Don’t most RCIA programs have baptisms/confirmations at or around Easter vigil?

Yes they do.

From my observation, there are a lot more baptized Christians who come into the Church at Easter than there are those already Catholic who receive only Confirmation. It was my assumption, perhaps wrong, that it was this larger, former group that you hoped to hear from. I just wanted to point out to them that they were included in your invitation.

Oh, no. I’m so sorry. I didn’t notice that it was a poll. Actually was trying to be helpful. My bad.

Let me see if I can get the moderator to remove my post.

No, no. I’m half joking. It’s not that serious.

I’ll be confirmed at my parish’s Easter Vigil mass. 🙂 Can’t wait!

Congrats! So were you already baptized?
Yep. I backed out right before my confirmation as a teenager. I had been a closet atheist for a few years at that point and finally “came out” before I was confirmed.
Stupid me. 🙂 So glad to be coming home now though!

I am a baptized Catholic, and will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at Easter Vigil this year. (My parents stopped going to church after my First Communion and Sacrament of Reconciliation. I stopped going to catechism classes after 7th grade). That was thirty years ago. My journey back to the Catholic Church has been long and winding, and I am really looking forward to the Easter Vigil.

See…that was just about my story as well. I thought…oh well I will get confirmed to check the box…I was wrong…Confirmation was AWESOME:thumbsup:

Yes, might as well be. The parish might not have me on record and the official stuff but still can participate in the Easter Vigil

I’m getting confirmed next spring. The date has not been set yet. I’m not in RCIA; I’m actually receiving the Sacrament through the regular cycle of First Holy Communion in grade 2 and Confirmation in grade 11.

I being confirmed. Thankfully I have managed to get annual leave from work for the whole week so am going to my first confession earlier in the same week. I can’t believe it’s nearly here!

I’m getting confirmed this year.

I’m not voting though because my confirmation is not on Easter Vigil. It’s a month after the vigil in May.

Our priest was given permission to confirm RCIA candidates who are receiving all three sacraments at once.

There are three of us that just need Confirmation and I’m one of the them

So, am I getting confirmed this year? Yes! 😃

Is it during Easter Vigil? No

I am going to my first confession with others in my RCIA class (nervous) during Holy Week, and then recieve the Eucharist and Confirmation on Easter Vigil :D. I was baptized Presbyterian. The confirmation only Catholics in RCIA were already confirmed last week! 👍
