Wisconsin’s Republican-led state Senate passed Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed restrictions on collective bargaining for public employees Wednesday, getting around a Democratic walkout by stripping financial provisions from the bill.

It’s a dark day in America. A day on which begins a backslide toward a whole spate of injustices and inequities that most of us thought we had licked long ago. God have mercy on us.

I agree. The mobs of hired thugs and death threats against democratically elected officials shows how little regard the privileged government employees have for the democrat process and their taxpaying employers.

What’s worse is that, if we are to judge by the comments from the conservatives on these threads, unionized government employees don’t have to pay any taxes like the general public does! What a deal!!

Sounds like an exaggeration to me. Tell me about the crimes from these mobs of thugs. Inform me about the mass of death threats coming from the mobs of thugs. The union workers are outraged more than anything at the lack of a democratic process. The bill was labeled as non-fiscal (immensely hypocritical) then illegally rushed on a vote where the lone democrat couldn’t legally voice his opinion on the issue. A democratic process indeed.

Not that it really needed saying, but you and I are NOT in agreement on this.

A democratic process? Is that what they call it when democrats run away to avoid a bill they don’t like? Can’t seem to recall any republicans doing it recently, so the term fits I guess.

What the dems did was bad, but not illegal. I’m sure the voters will let them know what they think come election time. What the WI GOP did was illegal and hypocritical. There is no escaping this truth.

I disagree. For once a tiny bit of light and sanity came back into the world. I m sure the left will find a way to snuff that out again though–sadly.

I have no idea what it is going to take to wake this nation from its deep narsicism.
