Hi rossum!
The Catholic Church already supports gay marriage… because the Catholic Church is a Universal Communion of Love: it Unites those Born in the Spirit, such as Saints… and you and me if we Love Like Jesus Loves: wellcoming everybody, Loving without conditions… The actual catholic institution is confused between sex and Love 🤷. and many don’t like it when I write that, but its not me: its all in the news! They judge according to appearances apparently! 😉 and they have a huge bias and ignorance is rampant (I am ignorant too, compared to God!!! :o) - Judge the validity of words (or teachings) according to the works of whom who speaks them… and I don’t mean to be rude :getholy: I just hope nobody will kick me out of this forum! 😉
The Catholic Church, the Bride of Jesus Christ, protected by the Holy Spirit, is not confused about sex, love, the True teachings of Jesus Christ, and the evils of homosexual sex. All of it is explained clearly in the Catholic Catechism (no I’m not looking it up for you because you need to read it). The Catholic Church does not in any manner support gay marriage.

What you claim about the Catholic Church has no affect upon the Catholic Church. Such claims only reflect the ignorance of the person making such claims. However, your claims do have the possibility to mislead uneducated people into a path that can lead them away from the salvation of Jesus Christ. Thus, your claims are not just rude, they are sinful. Be warned, a person cannot mislead people to Hell without joining them in Hell.

The Church does not refuse to marry infertile couples. It does refuse to marry those who are permanently and incurably incapable of engaging in marital relations (without regard to fertility). Same sex couples are by nature incapable of engaging in marital relations. To put it bluntly, the parts don’t fit. No marriage is possible.
I guess it is like the baseball game. Someone made an anal-logy with baseball somewhere on this forum :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: some people don’t like hockey and it does exists! Don’t even talk about polo 😉

**Love is not evil. Gay people Love A LOT! **Remember: do not reject Love :bighanky:. The Spirit of God is in everybody: if they Love, they are of God… Do not say ‘evil’ to Love, please, even if those who Love have sex (which is irrelevant if they Love). I agree that some homosexual people abuse sex, but it is true for heterosexuals too. Homosexual Love exists and gay couple sexuality deserves to be respected as much as heterosexual sexuality.

As I said somewhere else, I so Love everybody without exception that I will be the last one in hell talking to every souls about the Unconditional Love of God and How much Jesus Loves them and does not judge what they said or done, because He understands!!! I do not judge, I Love only. I can’t stop, Love is Infinite and Eternal.

If you go to hell, I will go get you 😉 and I will tell you how much God Loves you! ❤️ If you chose not to believe me, I will wait patiently at your side… If you push me away, I will watch from a distance and glance you smiles 😊 … Then, how will we get out of there? By trusting God knows where we are and that he will come get us!

God does not reject Love, and there are many homosexuals who love. But God does not condone homosexual sex. He destroyed two cities for it, or are you forgetting that part? You’d be best served looking into WHY homosexual acts are forbidden, so that, as a Catholic, you can form a proper understanding of your Faith…a Faith with rules that guide us, day by day.

Nobody here is saying that we should love without exception. “Love the sinner, hate the sin.”

And now, frankly, you’re talking gibberish. Heresy is a grave sin, and Jesus warned what awaited those who would lead his little ones astray. Remember that.

Love is often a corrupted word, just like “rights”, marriage, among others.
Homosexual Love exists and gay couple sexuality deserves to be respected as much as heterosexual sexuality.
I don’t believe that homosexual and heterosexual love are the same, especially since only one makes babies.

I think homosexual and GLBTQ folks can live their lives just fine without special recognition.

If you really love someone, you won’t spare the Truth at his/her emotional expense.

There are many examples of non-fertile sexuality that the catholic institution supports for marriage. Thus, infertility and reproduction issues are not the reason for not letting gay people marry, since other couple can get married even if they are infertile or can’t have children or don’t want to.
An editorial in MIT’s newspaper addressed this. Fertility tests would be too costly for the state to mandate, besides, some people who think they are sterile may not be.
It would be an insult to senior faithful catholics if the catholic institution would refuse to marry couple over 50years old! They would be sooooo offended! But not so offended when it happens to others… 😉
Marriage isn’t centrally about the good feelings and pleasures of the partners or about offending someone. It’s been used by states as means to protect women & children and civilize men, to quote NOM. It’s also been adjusted based on political and economic interests, not selfish, emotional ones.

I believe the word such desires is lust. A capital sin.

The MIT editorial also noted that so few marriages among older people occur it’s not worth the effort of the state to regulate.

The Catholic Church is a private institution that can marry or not marry whomever it sees fit.

Being in a heterosexual relationship is not the only criteria, and this has been true of other social institutions and nation-states.

Here is my commendment: To Love… what is heretic about pushing Love to its Limits? (which are… the limit of Infinity)

Nobody here is saying that we should love without exception. “Love the sinner, hate the sin.”

Homosexuality is not a sin. Unloving, uncarins, abusive sex is a sin, I agree.

And now, frankly, you’re talking gibberish. Heresy is a grave sin, and Jesus warned what awaited those who would lead his little ones astray. Remember that.
Ok. Call me an Heretic. 🤷 It is a Forum. People are responsible of themselves. I feel I won’t last very long here… I should stay low profile or I will be kicked out!

My stand is that those who lead his little ones away are those who teach less than His Love.

Gay people ARE Loved by Jesus because of Who they are and what they do! It is heresy for you because you don’t know Jesus. If you knew Him, you would know what I am talking about. Too many catholics are condemn for Loving without condition… Too many catholics are not permitted to think differently. My Faith is in Jesus and His Gifts. Those who lead us astray are those who make money with us. You can’t serve two masters… Look at their works and you will know if they speak the truth. Unless they hide what they do… of course.

Can I have an example?
Thanks!
❤️
To get married in secular society, are you required to attend marriage classes, take a personal assessment exam or go on a retreat?

My understanding is that two people can fly to Vegas on a moment’s notice, tie the knot and it’s legal.

See the difference?

You can play the martyr card all you want, but the forum rules are quite clear and you’ll only be suspended or banned if you violate those rules regardless of your opinion.

The only Truth is Love. Love is the fullfilment of the law.

I agree I corrupt Love because I am only a Human being. The catholic institution also corrupts Love for the same reason. Only God is Holy, only Him knows how to Love for real. I only follow Him. The Spirit of God is in my heart, I follow my heart. He invites you to do the same. :gopray2:

This is not an heresy I assure you… this is just how God made us.

Have a good night… ❤️

These classes are fake like Vegas. At least, people are free to decide if they want to go to Vegas. I was forced to do the classes.

Is it a Catholic truth to say that “civil law in both the US and the UK allows for divorce”?

rossum
It is indeed a Catholic truth.

Just like this is a Catholic truth: a man who has never been married is a bachelor.

Gay people ARE Loved by Jesus because of Who they are and what they do!
God does indeed love them.
But God does not love their sin.

Incidentally, the ONLY way you know that Jesus loves gay people is because…

wait for it…
wait for it…

the Catholic Church taught you that He does.

You would not know it any other way, except for the authority of the Catholic Church!

I am not telling people to do whatever they want with sexuality. I am just saying that if we Love, we will have a healthy sexuality. That’s children’s knowledge. 😉

❤️
Love is different from enabling.
Love means to do what is best for the other person, and that include the other person’s soul. Enabling means simply to look past their sins and ignoring the sins in the process. Enabling is the worst form of hatred there is.

Healthy sex only occurs within a blessed marriage between a man and a woman. All of the sex is sinful. Like so many people in the world you are greatly confused about the difference between love and lust.

You are no longer discussing an issue, rather you are preaching filth and evil.

Three States have approved same-sex marriage in this election. It looks like the Supreme Court, like it did in 1947, will prevent discrimination of people to marry based on race or sexuality. Shouldn’t the Catholic Church reexamine it’s position on homosexuals? Homosexuals have been discriminated against across the ages by the Church for who they love. I have homosexual friends that are in committed relationships that span decades. Is bigotry clouding our view of homosexuals in committed relationships?
Seeing that you say you are Catholic, how can you even ask such a question? Either you posted your question just for arguments sake, or you must have been absent on the day you were supposed to be taught the Catholic Churches position on homosexual behavior.
The answer to your question is that the Church has always taught that it is not a sin to be a homosexual, but that homosexual acts are always a mortal sin, as are all sexual acts done outside marriage. Homosexuals are particular sinful in that they thwart G*d’s intention that sexual acts be pro-creative.
