Hey I have a question. I can be quite scrupulous, and I committed a sin that I believe with reason, not just scrupulosity, that it could have been mortal. Anyways I went to confession and explained my sin to the priest, but, I didn’t tell him I was scrupulous, because he isn’t my primary priest and 1. I was in a hurry and didn’t want him to rant about scruples and 2. I didn’t want to involve him with it since I already know a priest that I trust more, and I can ask about scruples. I felt like I made a good confession, and I feel more at ease. But, after making the confession, I wondered if that counted as withholding information in confession. I’m not worried that I am guilty of mortal sin, as I wasn’t aware that I could be sinning. My question is this, does the sin of purposely withholding information in confession count only for sins that you confess, or can one make a bad confession because they didn’t tell the priest other information, like scrupulosity. Thank you.
