I almost always make hubby a sandwich to bring to work, though sometimes he’ll go out and grab something with other faculty members.

I envy you women with Leftover Lovin’ hubbies…LoL My guy hates eating leftovers and if I don’t get to them in time, will let them go green and fuzzy. Luckily, I’m a big fan, so they often are spared LoL

~Jess, who’s home sick today

I don’t pack anyone’s lunch.

I home school, so our son eats at home. Something that I make him, but it never gets packed.

My husband works close, so he also eats at home. Most of the time he eats the same thing that our son eats. And the same thing that I eat. It is a family lunch, just like dinner.

There is nothing like a home cooked, hot meal to keep you going during the day. 👍 And we love seeing him mid day. If for some reason, he doesn’t come home, we miss him. 😦

I used to pack his lunch everyday for the 1st 4 yrs of marriage when he was at a job with a regular and busy schedule, (Air Force maintenance) Since he cross trained to be a flyer, his schedule is not a “packed lunch” schedule. I do often pack a heat n heat (left over or what we will have for dinner if he’s leaving then) lasagna or whatever that he can heat and eat on the plane, rather than buy an “in flight” meal. I have also been known to send yummy snacks / treats for him to share with the crew. Cookies, brownies, guacomole with tortilla chips, dunkin doughnuts. beer (Beer for after the flight, of course!) I haven’t sent beer for a long time because they usually make a stop in civilization before they head to the booneydocks now.

He likes left overs as long as it is something he likes to eat. He eats out so much when on TDY that he appreciates home cooked food, as long as it’s good.

We homeschool so I dont’ need to pack lunches. We live on base so when my husband is at the office, he either comes home to eat or must eat lunch with his co-workers as a social or professional obligation.

He is coming home today for lunch, not only to eat, but to help our 5yo son put a model car together.

That’s about the most romatic thing I’ve ever heard! He’s great!

DH and I both work out of our home, so we don’t pack lunches. I cook lunch some days and we eat sandwiches on other days, depending on work schedules.

Meals are part of my husband’s compensation, so he doesn’t pask a lunch. My kid’s usually buy lunch at school. Unless it’s sloppy joe day, in which case I pack their lunches.

I pack the kids’ lunches every day for school. I used to pack my hubby’s, but now he gets up way too early, and I’m just not in a habit of packing lunches at night. Once in awhile, I will throw something together for him. I always keep things he likes around so that he can make his lunch if he wants to.

I used to - though not anymore.

I think I stopped about 2 or 3 years ago.

DH would never bring home his lunch boxes and I would have to keep reminding him then he would bring home about 10 or so.
Once I decided to go out to the car and get them and guess what they were all full ( luckily in the middle of winter they were also frozen hard) That was it - I pack and most of the time he goes out and eats and the food is wasted. After a while I again started giving him lunches and then again the same problem started and I found some scary lunch boxes in his car ( things growing … this was in summer)
So that was it I gave up. On occassion he will go home and eat. But most of the time he goes out for lunch with his colleagues.

I do however pack DS’s lunch and my own.

I leave before my husband, so the night before I try to remember. If there are left overs from the night I put it in a container (the Take&Go from Gladware) and put his name on it. He takes it to work and reheats. If there are no leftovers then he makes himself lunchmeat or something.

I work 8a-6p and he works 1p-close. We only get Sundays together right now so it’s rough. But he’s going back to school so I can be home more and homeschool the kids.

It’s hard to have leftovers since there are 9 people living in my home (my family has 4, me hubby 2 kids and then my husbands sister had 5, her and hubby 3 kids)
If I have a day off then I cook him a lunch to take to work. It really all depends.

I look forward to the day when I have a husband to feed!
I know this sounds disgustingly sappy, but sometimes I get mushy when I’m doing up his lunch. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband!

I voted yes, but I should have put other. Lately, DH has taken to buying his lunch but sometimes, when there is enough leftovers, he’ll take them. It was our comprimise with the budget and also has gotten him thinking budget-wise. For example, I set a $5 limit on lunch per day, which usually ends up being $20 a week. He now calls me everyday saying, “Guess how much lunch cost me? Only $3.75, see I’m sticking to the budget!!”. He gets really excited when he spends less than $5. So I’ve created a “lunch” category in the budget. If there is any left over from the $100 a month, he can use it to buy a computer game. It seems childish, but when we first started living together (he’d never been on his own, I had been for a few years) he would spend $20 on his lunch and wouldn’t understand why I got upset about it. This plan has made a lot of progress!!

This is so cute! And pretty disgustingly sappy. 😛

I pack my DH’s lunch every day ever since he started working three years ago! Half a PB&J, granola bar, and a yogurt… the same exact thing everyday, unless we had chinese takeout the night before, and then he LOVES those leftovers. He loves my homemade food, but I can’t get him to take it to work as leftovers.

I have Take&Go but mostly I use Corning Ware’s

French White 16 oz Round Dish w Plastic Cover

French White 15 oz Oval Dish w Plastic Cover

French White 22 oz Pop Ins Mug w Vented Plastic Cover

It is considerably heavier but sturdy and seels tight over the long haul.

I also have two sets of those As Seen on TV Smart Spin Storage systems. Those containers come in 3 sizes and the lids seel really well.

I used to put little notes and/ or jokes in his lunchbox. I forgot all about that until this post!

long, long ago …for about the first year we were married…
These days I might slip a bank deposit envelope into him lunch pail for him to take care of on his way home…lol

I would love to pack his lunch - and deliver it to them. I just need to get passed the Iraqi border guards first 🙂 I guess if a 16-year-old can do it, I could

I feel for you.
I pray you’ll be able to serve him a feast at your home dining table soon.

I have just recently started making my husband’s and my lunch sandwiches the day before (not night!) and putting them in wax paper wrap in the fridge. And it’s so nice to not have to scramble around for the time in the morning! When my husband was still in college and I worked to support us financially, he would pack my lunch every day in a brown paper sack, and he’d decorate it with messages and his little cartoons. I miss that 🙂

Now that he’s the one working and I’m at home with our son, I’ve decided that when I make his sandwich, I’ll make mine so that when I’m hungry, I can eat right away. Many times I have been hungry and about to make lunch for myself when my son needs me to cuddle him or something else. I’d recommend it to all of you moms who eat sandwiches for lunch! This way you can spend your few lunch minutes eating and not wasting them on preparations.

We both work, so I don’t completely make his lunch, unless he’s really in a rush in the AM; he has to be at work earlier than I do. I do however pack up dinner leftovers for both of us and then all he has to do is toss it in his lunch bag with some fruit and other snacks and he’s good to go.

Nope. But he is a fireman and he usually cooks lunch and dinner for himself and the guys he works with.
