Chicago, IL – A young woman has died after having a second-trimester abortion at a Chicago-area Planned Parenthood clinic. Tonya Reaves, 24, died late Friday night, according to a local CBS television station, of hemorrhage, with a cervical dilation and evacuation, according to the medical examiner’s office following an autopsy after the abortion that claimed her life.

The only reason there would be a lawsuit is if the abortionist did something out of the ordinary that caused this girl to die. For example, if he should have done an ultrasound and that would have alerted him to a problem, but he didn’t do one, that could be an example of a reason why the family might win a lawsuit. This woman’s death isn’t the reason Planned Parenthood should be defunded. It should be defunded because they perform murders on innocent babies, give medications and do unsafe procedures on underage girls without their parents knowlege or consent, they do not report instances of child abuse when they find out about them even though they fall under even the most liberal definition of a manadory reporter, and taxpayers should not be forced to fund population control agendas in the first place.

Most hospitals do not provide abortions, abortion is purposefully killing a child and many people are not happy with a business that provides that receiving tax payer money. Add the fact that Planned Parenthood has been accused of medicare fraud by former employees; been caught aiding and abetting abortion for sex trafficked minors; accepting donations from people who say they want to the money to be targeted for black babies; giving inaccurate scientific information - Planned Parenthood should be defunded

Congress Asked to Investigate Planned Parenthood Abortion Death

Leading pro-life advocates are calling on Congress to investigate Planned Parenthood following another death of a woman from a legal abortion

at one of its clinics — this time in Chicago, Illinois.

In response to news that a young woman, Tonya Reaves, died after a botched abortion at Planned Parenthood, the Susan B. Anthony List renewed the call for a congressional investigation into the abortion provider

A medical procedure’s purpose is to heal or repair damage to a body. Whether you think abortion is justified or not, there was no healing or repair done with this procedure. Rather, it was the opposite - direct destruction. So we have a hard time calling it a medical procedure.

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it claims that fewer women die from abortion than from childbirth because it includes (for some strange reason) the number of deaths due to abortion among the number of deaths due to childbirth.

The term arose not because an abortion was done in a back alley, but because a woman wanting an abortion was let into the doctor’s office through the back alley. Planned Parenthood Waited Five Hours Before Sending Abortion Victim to ER

New documents a local CBS television station obtained in the case of a young African-American woman killed in a fatal botched legal abortion

Steve Miller of the CBS news affiliate WBBM has released a new report showing documents released in the botched abortion death of Tonya Reaves that alarmingly shows Planned Parenthood delayed summoning emergency care for the dying woman for five and a half hours after the abortion failed

At 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Reaves received a second-trimester dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion at Planned Parenthood, located at 18 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago. Following the abortion, Reaves began bleeding heavily and it continued at Planned Parenthood for five and a half hours before a Fire Department ambulance finally took her to Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 4:30 p.m., according to Miller

Then, once the young woman arrived at the hospital, the reports make it appear emergency personnel had to start from scratch to figure out the extent of Reaves injuries

“Then at 5:30 p.m., doctors performed an ultrasound, and another dilation and evacuation procedure – basically, another abortion – this time at Northwestern,” Miller reports. “But after that, there were then more problems, and pain. That warranted a new ultrasound, and a perforation was discovered. At 10:12 p.m., Reaves was taken back to surgery – and “an uncontrollable bleed was discovered,” documents say”

Responding to the report, Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Nation, said, “It is clear that Planned Parenthood botched the procedure that resulted in uncontrolled bleeding then failed to treat the hemorrhage while Reaves was at their clinic, allowing her to bleed for over five hours before finally calling for help”

“There can be no doubt that this delay contributed to her death,” Newman argues. “The injury and the untreated hemorrhage happened at Planned Parenthood and they are solely responsible for it”

Pro-abortion activists claim that pro-life advocates are using Ms. Reaves tragic death as a means to promote a political agenda. However Catherine Davis, Founder and President of the Restoration Project, finds that idea repugnant: “Tonya Reaves death is not about a political agenda. This is about the healthcare disparities Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers have long inflicted upon Black women all across America. This is about the failure of an organization that holds itself out as a champion of women, to champion reasonable medical care standards for women of color”
