CCHD’s been playing a shell-game with “revisions,” “reviews,” and “guidelines,” for decades, and it hasn’t changed a thing. As long as the wrong personnel are in place, and this recent LSN article sure is a good indication of that, then the problems that have been coming out of late will continue.

It was interesting to read the contents of the conference that Dr. Amy Ellis of CRS (also mention in the LSN article about this former employee) attended in particular the results of the study that was done.
The fact that a member of CRS was at the presentation is not what is important. CRS has said that their involvement with certain groups ensures that natural family planning has a place in the discussion.

Bill Clinton was not invited to one of the Al Smith Dinners because of his pro-abortion stance.
 
I’m done giving money to big groups, whether they label themselves catholic or not. I can’t even safely give at church some weekends because they forward a percentage to these questionable organizations.

Catholic Relief Services is committed to upholding the teaching of the Church in all we do as we carry out the Gospel mission of serving the poor and vulnerable and defending human dignity around the world. CRS has been subject to serial attacks in the last month accusing the agency of not adhering to Church teaching. The latest of these is aimed at named employees. Here are the facts:

That’s a nice reply. Surprised they named names, but I appreciate it when organizations meet criticism head on.

The questions for posters here, and I include myself, is this:
Why are the people who work with the poor, work with the downtrodden, largely liberal? Where are all the conservatives? Is a life of low pay and work among the poor or those in need distasteful?

Why are these the available people? Where are the Catholics?

Most people who are faithful to the Church get put aside by these “liberals” I’ve experiences this myself when I tried to join in on volunteering. If you don’t think like them then they will chew you out and spit you out. Aging liberals who can’t let things go.

Yes, and when you have destroyed the Catholic Church’s moral high ground by discrediting and reviling the institutions that are doing demonstrably good work and by rejecting all the teachings that don’t fit a right-wing agenda, you will feel very righteous and persecuted because the world rejects the high moral teaching of the Church.

Of course what this woman did was despicable. But purging CRS for ideological purity is a ludicrous overreaction.

which teachings are being rejected ? and what right wing agenda ?
 
This is why, as presently constituted, CRS will not get a nickel of my money.
