Really, as far as the original case goes…men are generally stronger then women, especially those women over fifty. His response to the lady was not just a person loosing their temper. It showed hatred for the individual.

A person who temporarily looses control, might strike another person but this attack sounds horrific and over the top in it brutality. This isn’t the kind of act that occurs when someone has a quick, sudden moment of anger. This attack, combined with the perpetrators obvious desire-through rape-to humiliate his victim showed hatred for this particular woman.

The answer was in the post you replied to - “to humiliate his victim.” Rape is a violent act. Don’t mistake it for sexual desire.

Rape isn’t usually about sex; it’s usually about power. Controlling another’s sexuality for the sake of feeling power is the disorder that drives most rapes, especially rape outside of date rape and marital rape. It makes a lot of sense from that viewpoint.

Confronting a man about his lifestyle, if it is harmful to him in any way, is not an unloving thing to do, nydas. It is a loving thing to do. If this Catholic woman believed the Church on homosexuality, and loved this man to the point of wanting him to do what is best for himself, she could have morally done nothing except confront him. Even if she challenged him in a forceful or unloving wat, it was absolutely a hate crime.
