Right? Haha. I’m not like that. I’m a big girl and people don’t mess with me because I LOOK intimidating but if push came to shove I’d crumble like a piece of paper. Haha.

Mad respect to Pup, the female Rambo. LOL!
@Pup7 is kind of my hero, to be honest.

I’ve always been pretty forward, LOL, as most can likely imagine. But when it came to guys I was reserved. My time as an Air Force K9 handler changed that, and sometimes to my detriment, and I’ll admit that. But I’ve learned that there are times when a clapback is warranted, just as there are times you really don’t want to involve yourself in that sort of thing. I’ve gotten answers for my answers - but theirs is because they’re taken aback by a female who doesn’t put up with it. I hope the times my quickness has been warranted has made it better for someone else.

And I’ll also admit that being the sole female on a team of 17 other men on my shift taught me a lot about guys in general. They don’t have it as easy as I’d always thought they do, and in some ways it’s worse.

People mess with me all the time because I don’t look like I’d stand up for myself… and then they feel my wrath and back off. If they don’t back off they’ll end up staring back at the business end of my Ruger (or Colt depending which I’m carrying at the time).

(Observing all applicable laws of course. )
The joke in Texas was with most of the state packing, why on earth would someone be that stupid? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I sometimes also think that the fact that I look a LOT younger than my age (not a brag, and it’s not always the blessing people think it is) works against me, because a more compliant response - or no response - is probably expected from someone younger than I. LOL they’re sniffing around the wrong tree!

For my will was perverse and lust had grown from it, and when I gave in to lust habit was born, and when I did not resist the habit it became a necessity. (VIII.5.1)
So these two wills within me, one old, one new, one the servant of the flesh, the other of the spirit, were in conflict and between them they tore my soul apart. (VIII.5.1)
But I still postponed my renunciation of this world’s joys, which would have left me free to look for that other happiness, the very search for which, let alone its discovery, I ought to have prized above the discovery of all human treasures and kingdoms or the ability to enjoy all the pleasures of the body at a mere nod of the head. (VIII.7.2)
Alypius could not understand how it was that I, of whom he thought so highly, could be so firmly caught in the toils of sexual pleasure as to assert, whenever we discussed the subject, that I could not possibly endure the life of a celibate. When I saw that he was puzzled by my words, I used to defend them by saying that there was a great difference between his own hasty, furtive experience and my enjoyment of a settled way of life. (VI.12.2)
I was impatient at the delay of two years which had to pass before the girl whom I had asked to marry became my wife, and because I was more a slave to lust than a true lover of marriage, I took another mistress, without the sanction of wedlock. (VI.15.1)
St. Augustine, Confessions

Are we in the same Church, the same faith with this man? I would say probably not. Perhaps, ‘it’s optional’ is better.

I totally agree. I’m just out of likes, LOL. It’s a problem. 😉
I’ve noticed this is a recurring problem for you. In the spirit of this thread may I suggest being a little more modest in your doling out of likes? You know, maybe save some for marriage or something? 😉

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You win the thread, period. End of story!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Also, I wish we’d stop conflating attention or looking nice, with sexual attention.

I’m looking around my workplace. Most of my coworkers are in jeans and a t-shirt, or in a casual sundress.

I’m wearing a ruffled calf-length skirt, an embroidered top, and a sheer capelet. I’ve got makeup and earrings on.

Yes, I like the fact that I look nice and people notice that I look nice. It’s not a sexy outfit, but I’m wearing pretty things because I like to look pretty.

Oh yes. I’m 30 but could easily pass for much younger. Men do not expect to be told off by what they think is a barely-legal (if that) girl. Or even just very pointedly ignored.

Slightly off topic, but I find it visually disturbing to see women in tank-top-mid-thigh dresses having political debates or reporting the news with men dressed in suits and ties on TV.

The men look dressed for a serious occasion, and the women look dressed for the beach.
I am not saying it is morally wrong, I am saying I have always found it visually disturbing.

What if the men on the news started wearing tank tops on the air?

I agree. I don’t think a sleeveless dress is professional in that instance. There’s a time and place, and a short sleeveless dress on someone I’m meant to take seriously just isn’t cutting it for me.

And it cracks me up when they’re in a studio in NYC in January wearing a sleeveless dress. Uhm, pride in appearance much?

Does nothing for me.

Now dress them in kilts and I’ll be watching. 😉😊

I’ve been told the studio lights get very hot.

I could accept a professional sleeveless dress though.

versus

Before it was acceptable to wear a sleeveless dress, women wore suits on camera.

The men are wearing long sleeve shirts and ties, if not suits or sport coats.

They seem fine.

(Yes, the first dress is more appropriate and I agree with that. However, the men aren’t using lights as an excuse. Having sung on a stage semi-professionally, I’m aware of what studio lights are like. That’s what Makeup Crews are for.)

For those who don’t watch the news (like me) and weren’t sure what the fuss was about:

It’s this:

as opposed to this:

I just keep thinking if that second lady had accidentally opened her legs… phew! The camera would have got quite the ‘lens’ full.

While looking for pics I was struck by how it’s all Fox. LOL. Are there just not female reporters in other news networks or do people only screenshot Fox News?

LOL.

CNN from the little I watch of them is no better, IMHO.

That slip dress on what’s-her-face is ridiculous.

There’s nothing you can do about it. You have to accept that. But it seems to me that there are hyper-sexual personality for which the erotic parts of the female body have just disastrous effect.
Divorces, infidelity, adultery, everything stretches from the effect of the gradual erotic visualizations.
I think that hyper-sexualization takes place to a large extent even in the southern peoples.
Not for nothing, for example, in the Arab, Persian, even in the Caucasian Christian culture there were and there are strict traditions regarding decent appearance of the opposite sex.
If we assume that the more erotics on the street the more will be sex and childbirth in our life…well, I think we differ from dogs that we have morality and ethics.
Yes, in some ways we are like dogs. When the dogs are close to each other then they instantly triggered by reflex.
But over the eroticism and permissiveness leads to the fact that the impulsive Christian youth is extremely difficult to bear the cross of chastity, and the reason for this is constant erotic stimuli.
