Yes, there is always an excuse for arguing - contrary to the Church’s teaching - that those who don’t follow your preference as to veiling do so merely because they’re of inferior spiritual strength or willpower or whatever.

By the way - St Paul said we should all be celibate if possible. I’ve been celibate for many many years now, I don’t see how anyone is incapable of celibacy if I’m able to be celibate (I’m not that special!).

Everyone who is married is therefore merely making excuses, has wimped out and just didn’t stick at the celibate thing long enough. They’ve sinfully put human what is easiest for them over and above the love of God.

Liza, and other ladies, why aren’t you obeying God’s command through St Paul and living a celibate life?

As I recall He also had a few words to say about Pharisees who lay unnecessary burdens on peoples’ backs.

What’s the burden?

And last I heard ‘who hears you hears me’ - meaning He speaks through the Magisterium as surely as through scripture, no? And what they loose is loosed in heaven?

So why are you asserting that something that has been loosed by the earthly Magisterium, successors of the Apostles, is yet bound in heaven? It just doesn’t work that way

Putting society above God is always sinful, no matter who does it, be he lay person, priest, bishop, or pope.

And while feminism has a heck of a lot to answer for, I for one am glad that if need be I can work in a profession of my choosing rather than only in select few, poorly-paid, that are deemed ‘women’s work’.
