How sad:( Thankfully my children go to a small parish run Catholic school without the need for uniforms and they have a good dress code. All of our teachers are ultra conservative Catholics who I know personally as they go to my small parish and thankfully they share my values. My kids are so lucky they get to be surrounded by kids with parents who are of the same beliefs that I am and that is really from God. The largest class is 17 kids… we are talking small parish in rural Minnesota… population " 8000 people if that in my town" so to us it is like homeschooling in a way… very small classes and everyone knows everyone in our town and in our parish. I only wish more could have something so good… God has really blessed us:)
That’s all fine and dandy but you had better sit in on the catechism class and make sure they are being properly taught. Your situation sounds idyllic but if they are being taught lies and error it will come back to bite you in the rear. I know, I’ve been in that fooled position myself. I suggest you pick up the traditional catechism, and see for yourself how “Catholic” their education is. I would suggest “My Catholic Faith” available from Angelus Press.

The school Always uses the traditional catechism… our Priest is very, very involved and all the teachers get their help from our parish nuns who were teachers in our school for 40 and 50 years… they sit in on many of the classes and offer their advice to our teachers. I have sat in on many classes as have many other parents to be a teachers aide and I am very pleased with what the kids are being taught. I can honestly say that I couldn’t do a better job homeschooling… not only that… my 11 year old son has told me more than once he thinks God may be calling him to the Priesthood… he shared with me that if he wasn’t in his Catholic school he doesn’t know if he would feel this way… he feels such a huge connection to the Catholic faith as they are so engrossed in it day in and day out… we are fortunate that our Priest and Our Bishop are so on top of the school in making sure that we follow the teachings of the Catholic Church 100% I know that is a turn off to some families and that is why they choose to send their kids to the public school as they think the parish school is way too strict in the Catholic faith but that’s too bad, our priest doesn’t bow down to pressure.
Anyways… I don’t want to hijack the thread;)
