On a personal note I was at a fast food place yesterday and it is hard to argue that these guys are underpaid, because they clearly are not the most productive workers. I am not complaining though because my lunch costs $2.

Thanks.

I do think health insurance benefits will soon be taxed, though. We are already required to report the benefit (informationally) on the W-2 as of tax year ending 2012.
Don’t some of the high-end plans (“cadillac plans”) get taxed or penalized or whatever for being too good of a plan?

Not for a few years. ACA is unraveling year by year as as different parts of it go into effect. And of course the Prez is extending the time for the release of unpopular parts by executive order.

You get what you pay for…

I don’t expect to go into McDonalds and expect Filet Mignon delivered to my table on fine china with the sharpest knives and the best service.

I don’t understand the reasoning behind this.

Isn’t the theory behind Obamacare that employers/insurance companies/etc. should offer a minimum level of coverage or get fined if they don’t? If an employer goes above and beyond this, especially to attract better workers or just to have healthy workers, why should they be punished?

It seems counter-intuative to me.

True, like I said my lunch cost me a little over $2, so I put up with a little slowness and not the best service and I will again.

On the other hand, if McDonalds had to pay $15 per hour, they wouldn’t be hiring these people.

I don’t go there for health food either.
