if you enjoy working out(exercise) as a hobby is it a sin to do it on sunday?
I certainly hope not - I do it all the time! Seriously (I do work out on Sundays) but no, I dont think its a sin. Try praying the rosary while on the treadmill.if you enjoy working out(exercise) as a hobby is it a sin to do it on sunday?
No, I don’t think it qualifies as “servile work.” Especially if you do it for fun, or for good health.if you enjoy working out(exercise) as a hobby is it a sin to do it on sunday?
It is exercise. “Working out” is a euphemism for exercise and it does not relate to gainful employment. Since your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, whatever you do to honor it is permissible. However, if you go beyond mere exercise into body building or body worship, well you’re on your own there.if you enjoy working out(exercise) as a hobby is it a sin to do it on sunday?
I have been pondering the same question as the original question posted only because i usually do more weight training or lifting than i do cardio/aerobic excercises. I have found that that is what works best for me to stay in shape. I am not a body builder by any means but i am someone who is not novice either (meaning i am somewhat muscular but not over the top) and try to take care of myself. Again, it’s not servile work. It’s only servile work (physical labour done for pay) that is forbidden on Sundays.I have been pondering the same question as the original question posted only because i usually do more weight training or lifting than i do cardio/aerobic excercises. Ask Father Serpa in the “Ask an Apologist” section. I cannot see how it is sinful, unless you begin to love your body and serve it, rather than the Lord. As Jesus said, the Pharisees would have worked on the Sabbath in order to pull an animal out of a well. That was not held by Christ to be sinful, as it had good intent and was not directed toward personal gain, or wealth building.I have been pondering the same question as the original question posted only because i usually do more weight training or lifting than i do cardio/aerobic excercises.
