II certainly hope you never come unplugged, apo. However, the scripture clearly shows that people can receive Christ, then not continue in Him.
You make wrong assumptions. We can also say the same for you, we must truthfully say…Several passages say the contrary to your assertion:
1 John 2:19 KJV 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, **they would no doubt have continued **with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
3 John 1:11 KJV 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil
hath not seen God.
2 John 1:9 KJV 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ,
hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1 John 3:6 KJV 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth
hath not seen him, neither known him.
Matthew 13:24-30 KJV 24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Matthew 13:38-45 KJV 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
Unfortunately, the dragnet catches those who are not of the sheep as you can see below…they never were. Only by association.
Matthew 13:47-50 KJV 47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: 48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. 49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
And Christ will say…
Matthew 7:23 KJV 23 And then will I profess unto them,
I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Not - I knew you and then you fell…I never knew you.
Luke 8:18 KJV 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which
he seemeth to have.
And the many passages that say those who are truly His will continue - one of which most clearly says this is Hebrews 3:14:
Hebrews 3:14 NAS95 14 For we **have become **partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end,
Note - HAVE BECOME…
Hebrews 3:6 NAS95 6 but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house–whose house
we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.
Not WILL BE - WE ARE
Colossians 1:22-23 NAS95 22 yet **He has now reconciled you **…23
if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.
NOTE AGAIN - Has reconciled you…not will reconcile you.
Yes, there are passages that seem to indicate that one that is born again can fall away - but in the context of the entire NT, this is not the case.
Romans 8:30 NAS95 30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
Romans 8:1 NAS95 1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:33 NAS95 33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies;
John 5:24 NAS95 24 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
