World did not end on Sept. 23rd

I LOVE apocalypse day! I always feel like I just accomplished something!
 
So, has anyone seen any outlandish signs which portend the beginning of the tribulation?

My teenagers loaded and emptied the dishwasher without being asked today, so I’m inclined to wonder…
 
So far so good! I don’t mind an occasional apocalypse day. It is a reminder of the end - however that will occur - I mean your own private end and/or the world’s end. So I always make sure I am ready to go…just in case. Once that is achieved, I go about my business in case I end up staying. Where I am at it is a beautiful day indeed, perfect early fall day.

Dare I say…heavenly even? don’t want to jinx us here…

Yeah, but what’s your opinion when some people say we won’t know the day or hour the world will end BUT there are “signs” the time is drawing near?
 
Is your comment in response to my question about those who say there are “signs” the end is drawing near, but we won’t know the “exact day or hour”?

Sorry, I’m still trying to get used to this new format.
 
Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs, blockin’ all the scenery and blowing my mind…

I try my best to be ready for God when he is ready for me…

Luckily, worrying about things beyond my control has never been my strong suit.

I thought I’d chip in and be fair to the people concerned about the Rev 12 sign. So far I have not seen anyone besides the mainstream media claim that the world is actually going to end because of this sign. To be honest I think it’s fascinating that the stars are aligning like they do in that chapter of the Bible, but I don’t think we have much to worry about. If it were a true sign from God then He would give us a little time to think about which direction it is pointing us in.

Yeah, my 13yo son stopped playing Minecraft with his friend and helped me scrub down the bathroom today – without a word of complaint!

I’m not going to get into a long discussion with you on this, just this one post.

Yes, Jesus said there would be signs. But if you read the scriptures you’ll see that the signs He mentions are extremely common events – wars, earthquakes, famines.

I like to think of those events as “signs” that remind me of my own mortality and the judgment I could face at any moment.

But as to using those events to determine the time of Jesus’ return, best not worry about such things. I mean, what would be the point?

We are called to be ready at every moment.
We are to be the hands and feet and love of Christ daily.
We are to live as salt and light in the world daily.
We are to live as beloved children of God daily.

Whether Jesus returns today or 100,000,000 years from now should make no difference to you. Just live THIS moment as a child of God and keep moving forward.

I don’t want to get into a lengthy discussion about this either, but one more question : So, basically these “signs” that the end is nearing, are events that have been happening since Jesus’ time and even before then, right?

YES! Of course there have always been earthquakes and famines and “wars” of varying degree and types.

And now I’m really done. If you have further questions, I seriously recommend you speak with your parish priest or spiritual director if you have one.

The signs that some of our Protestant brethren attribute to the end of the world are from the book of Revelations. However, good Catholic theologians have not affirmed this theory, rather they have confirmed that Revelations is a mysterious revelation of the Mass.

In short, we know nothing because we have been given nothing.

No I mean all the way back to the ancient Egyptians and pyramids. My news radio ran a good show on it this week. That guy was hardly mentioned. But his plagerised hypothesis was.
