World Goverment & New World Order and World Peace

This thread is more about where humanity is headed and nota political thread although to a reasonable degree politics needs to be mentioned but not as in USA election please. That is not the purpose.

The purpose is to discuss, share and learn how humanity might govern itself and take charge of affairs that are clearly getting out of hand. Will it be able to stop war? How? When? Will it take another world calamity to establish a UN with teeth that will have real authority?

How will religion and Catholicism affect such a world order? Will there be a world language? Can we only have peace if women have a greater say in affairs as she is against war by nature as a mother?

What happened to the peace movement? Are human rights organisations effective. And many more questions to broaden the view of a humanity struggling to find a world identity that cannot be just dominated by one Faith, nation or culture.
 
We’ve seen the League of Nations and now the United Nations but no world peace yet why?
 
We will never enjoy true world peace until the end of the world, because of man’s fallen nature. Man has tried many times, by his own power and ignoring God, to obtain world peace, but has failed miserably each time.

The only way for us to enjoy comparative peace and happiness on this earth is to evangelize the faith and draw as many others to it as possible. Only through God’s grace can humans find peace.

When is the end of the world as it has been forecast so many times and hasn’t the Faith of Jesus spread all over the world already?

In my opinion Catholicism only job is to preach the true word of God and the teachings of Christ, bring people to salvation. Why should the Church get involved with a world order?

There is no world peace, but neither have we had WW3.

The world pattern of wars of increasing severity once a generation has in effect been stalled, which is good though not good enough.

World peace cannot occur as long as there is national sovereignty.

True. I don’t mean as a religion but say humanity establish a world order. You don’t want it on any less than Christian principles right? And Muslims don’t want an order that doesn’t include Muslim principles so it’ll be tricky.

But we come back to the one shepherd and one fold again with ‘others’ who are not in the fold to become part of it. (If you wish the complete quote I’m happy to post it)

So what if Muslims and Christians who are already divided amongst themselves, unable to solve their ‘successorship’ problems decide to unite under one God and establish a One God, One humanity civilisation?

Couldn’t that happen?? Especially if people grew sick of sectarian wars and conflicts?

Just like this forum. You believe in God we believe in God but we aren’t at war and even we can be friends so why not the whole world?

Dear Eddie,

So profound!! Yes national sovereignty is the obstacle. 100% in agreement. But isn’t God, in His Wisdom breaking down borders and dissolving national sovereignty? We got the EEU and ASEAN and Afrucan Unity etc all these blocks need to do us become one big block???

But God and morals & virtues need to be the foundation not $$$$$

Man has to find peace within themselves first before there can be World peace.
 
I u der stand and fully agree with you Joey but with millions of refugees and homeless mothers and children the world needs an urgent solution. People are without food and medicines with bombs dropping on their cities and bullets flying everywhere while the rich and powerful wine and dine.

Those poor people need us now so all of us need to call for peace before these poor people suffer more than they already have.
