World Goverment & New World Order and World Peace

It is true, NO ONE but God knows when this is going to happen, but Jesus did make sure we had very specific signs to watch for, so we would know when he is ‘at the door’…if he truly wanted no one to have a clue about his return, why would he give these signs and warnings? Especially since we are living in a time when so many of these are happening at the same time. Its very eerie to read some of these and then see how they are coming to fruition in our modern times, and from a book written over 2000 yrs ago!!! How could anyone deny the bible considering this alone?

I guess it comes down to Gods definition of ‘at the door’, that could be 100,000 years or 2 days, but Im assuming since he was speaking to us, he meant in our definition of near/ close.

The only thing I could see causing this world to create a one world Govt and basically abolishing all borders, would be some kind of major threat to the entire planet, like an asteroid, or some kind of natural event that would drastically change our planet.

But Christ denied bringing peace.

And government was not on Jesus shoulders

The great Princeton theologian of the last century, Dr. Charles Hodge, said something which I have always thought is worth remembering. He said that though the Old Testament is filled with some 333 prophecies concerning the first coming of Christ; in spite of that, nobody got it right.

Thats a good point, 333 prophecies about the 1st coming, all wrong…I would bet when the 2nd coming happens, many will also be proven wrong, and since he says he will come like a thief in the night (at a time no one expects), this suggests it will be a big surprise to most people, so maybe we are all wrong? Maybe even the most devout christian who knows scripture forwards and backwards will be surprised at the timing he returns…something to think about at least.

I think there are 2 different ‘one world govts’, the bible says the first will have the AC as its leader, this will be a bad time, but when Jesus returns, I believe it says he will throw down all the world governments and he alone will rule the world, so this would be a one world Govt of sorts, but with God as our leader, and I imagine his Govt will look nothing like our idea of Govt.

Right, that’s the way I understand it, there we come some kind of phoney world peace implemented by the antichrist, but Jesus will destroy the antichrist when he comes back.

Youre right and very true! If they had only looked and investigated a bit further and not been so hurried to pass judgement.

The Kingdom might not come the way we expect it. It might come in stages not all at once. And maybe we have to build it like Jesus likened the Kingdom to a seed or dough that had to be kneaded.

This thread is more about where humanity is headed and nota political thread although to a reasonable degree politics needs to be mentioned but not as in USA election please. That is not the purpose.

The purpose is to discuss, share and learn how humanity might govern itself and take charge of affairs that are clearly getting out of hand. Will it be able to stop war? How? When? Will it take another world calamity to establish a UN with teeth that will have real authority?

How will religion and Catholicism affect such a world order? Will there be a world language? Can we only have peace if women have a greater say in affairs as she is against war by nature as a mother?

What happened to the peace movement? Are human rights organisations effective. And many more questions to broaden the view of a humanity struggling to find a world identity that cannot be just dominated by one Faith, nation or culture.

There will be no world identity. Their will always be different religions, different nationalities and cultural and ethnic heritage that will not be extinguished.

There is no money in peace. Sure, peace should always be promoted but the primary consumers of research are military organizations under their definition of defense.

Hi Ed,

You are very right! I thought the same for many years until I realised the power of God. Once upon a time, in the real world there was a child that a powerful King wanted to kill but the Hand of God thwarted his ambitions and then that child grew and became a man and then taught love and gathered a few disciples. But again the rich and powerful thought to destroy Him so crucified Him.

Now did all their wealth and power avail them against one small child protected by the Hand of God? All the kings on earth and their wealth and armies were subdued by this Child and they bow down in humility.

Now in this age when God again has a Plan. The world has contracted to a neighbourhood through communications and technology. Is God unable to unite all the warring and contending people’s into one family through His Will and Power?

He has promised there will be one fold and one Shephered and all humanity will live in unity and peace and going by His power to raise of Jesus I have full faith that this is happening now and we are in the process of something very beautify happening. A new world physically has been born and now a new world spiritually is being born where barriers are gradually being torn down and differences reconciled.

We are approaching the day of Peace promised in the Bible and God I fully trust keeps all His Promises but not always in ways we understand.
