Anyone care to share their favorite love songs? What are the world’s greatest?

I am more interested in the classics…

A Te, O Cara (I Puritani) by Vincenzo Bellini as sung by Andrea Bocelli

Porgi Amor (The Marriage of Figaro) by Mozart as sung by Kathleen Battle.

Gustav Mahler - Adagietto from Symphony no. 5But I’m not adverse to modern classics…

You Take My Breath Away by Queen

We are talking slow dance here. Please no AC/DC or Pearl Jam.

Post em!

well for making love it has to be Ravel’s Bolero

It’s hardly a great work of art, but I like “Rock With You” by Michael Jackson. 👍

I love" Wonders of wonders, miracles of miracles" from Fiddler on the Roof, makes me cry ever time I watch this movie.😉

I can’t help falling in love with you.

The wonder of you.

Both, coincidentally, by Elvis Presley, though I am not a really huge fan of him except for those two songs. 😉

How Great Thou Art - especially Verses 3 and 4. I have seen the tears roll down cheeks unashamedly at the love shown here.

Is Cole Porter too lowbrow to share a page with Mahler and Mozart? My two favorites:

I’ve Got You Under My Skin
Begin the Beguine

And a simple song from the most romantically simple movie scene of all time - Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis in Witness: Sam Cooke’s Wonderful World.

Another one|

The Five Satins - In the Still of the Night
Great song there! I know too many to name them all but here are some great ones off the top of my head. All oldies. And you can slow dance to them!

When a man loves a woman - Percy Sledge
Earth Angel - The Penguins
Try me - James Brown
Natural High - Bloodstone
We Belong Together -Ritchie Valens
Im so proud - The impressions

I am a 80’s music freak, so mine will come from that era:

Every Breath You Take (Police)

The Search is Over (Survivor)

Open Arms (Journey)

Faithfully (Journey)

Ok, Steve Perry rocks, so almost all Journey tops my list!

Ashitaka and San - Joe Hisaishi
I Want to Know What Love Is - Foreigner
