Worst? Has to be death metal and gangsta rap. How could country be worse then those? common. :cool:

Also, when you say you donā€™t like country - you need to classify it, because there are MANY genreā€™s within country music, just like in rock, jazz, or hip-hop.
Personally, I donā€™t like real POP country, like Shania Twain, or the cutesy boy Keith Urban. But I love Texas sounds, honky tonk, outlaw country, Angry American country, and western folk. It is the only purely American music. Call me patriotic, or a redneckā€¦ I donā€™t care.
 
To me it would have to be rap/hip-hop. I am a musician so I am admittedly a little bit of a musical snob, meaning I appreciate genuine talent more than ā€œcatchyā€ tunes, so to me pushing the start button on a drum machine and running your mouth just does not add up to music. It is a from of expression but it is not music.

I know a lot of people bash country (many of which have never even heard good country music and mistakenly believe the stereotype that it is all depressing drivel about lifeā€™s problems) but there are some seriously awesome people playing country now. Brad Paisley comes to mind. He is an excellent guitarist with an excellent band and he has a great sense of humor in his writing.

That being said, music is a matter of personal taste and no one can fault you for liking whatever kind of music you like.

And whatā€™s so funny about that is Iā€™ve yet to see a fit & trim guy who played in a polka band! (but I still love a good polka)

I had rap. Iā€™d list the particularly offensive lyrics but Iā€™d get banned in about two seconds.
 
Rap and metal - hands down. Itā€™s not even music for cryinā€™ out loud! One is just screaming and the other is all exactly alike - with horrid lyrics if you can even understand them.

I don`t like polka either, but at least polka does not influence young people in a negative way like gangsta rap or metal.

That "death metalā€™ or ā€œspeed metalā€ stuff is terrible but bands like Metallica actually have some great music to their credit and remember that the term ā€œmetalā€ or ā€œheavy metalā€ was originally applied to bands like Led Zeppelin. ā€œMetalā€ alone casts a pretty wide net.

Unfortunately, the ā€œPolka Massā€ setting isnā€™t truly representative of Polka music. It is more of a blase setting of ethnic folk music. Though my favorite part is the ā€œAlleluiaā€. It is set to the melody of ā€œObladee, Obladahā€.

You`re right. In my previous post I meant ā€œdeath metalā€
 
Rap is the worst by far. Iā€™m open to just about anything, but I draw the line at rap.
