Worse than “Molly”?“Honey” - by Bobby Goldsboro. BLECCHHH!!!
I know what you mean! Crying over music is a family trait with me and sad war songs do us in every time.I’m a crier and I’ve been known to have to pull off the road and have a good cry when a particularly poignant song has come on. The worst time was the first time I heard “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda”.
I experience that at the local coffee shop where we usually spend an hour or so in the evening. One of the other regulars used to be a DJ so just about everything triggers a song in him and we’ll join in if we know it.Our family acts as though we’re putting on a life-long musical.
Not a day goes by without somebody saying a word or phrase and somebody else starting to belt out a song to ‘go along with’ the word or phrase, if you understand me.
For example, we’ll be chatting and somebody will say, "oh, sure, that’ll be the day. . .’
And one of us will start rocking, “That’ll be the day, when you say goodbye, that’ll be the day-ay-ay that I die”. . .etc.
We’re a FUN family.![]()
I can’t get through “Green Fields of France” without breaking down. I grew up with songs that had been popular during WWII and some just tear your heart out. One in particular, “The Soldier’s Last Letter”, always got me:I know what you mean! Crying over music is a family trait with me and sad war songs do us in every time.
Try My Bologna by Weird Al.I dont know who sings it but the song My Sharona gets on my nerves like you wouldnt believe.
I’m getting a headache trying to decide if it DID give him something he didn’t already have…“Oz never did give nothing to the tin man that he didn’t already have” by America?
It’s like “Horse With No Name”. America is like fingernails on a blackboard.I’m getting a headache trying to decide if it DID give him something he didn’t already have…
Particularly when it’s used as the Entrance Song at a Nuptial Mass – yes, my pastor allowed it.My Friend Bill told me to add his:twocents: and said that the worst song that has ever been sung or made is anything that is sung by Shania Twain. Dont be mad at me for this. lol
Which one? “Give Me Just A Little More Time”? That might be apropos!Particularly when it’s used as the Entrance Song at a Nuptial Mass – yes, my pastor allowed it.
Hey, I love that song. As for all you people who are bashing Nirvana, Nevermind is probably the best album of all time. Even if you don’t happen to care for the lyrics…A Horse With No Name
