“put on my pj’s and hop into bed”…

Every time I hear that song by Jewel…I want to scream

whiny, whiny, whiny…

There can be only one…great song…😃

“And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.”

There’s a song I actually like – musically, anyway --but I can’t stand to actually listen to the lyrics:

“She’s a Lady”, sung by Tom Jones, written by Paul Anka.

Some of the troublesome lines:

“But she aways knows her place…”

“Well she’s never in the way
Always something nice to say, Oh what a blessing.
I can leave her on her own
Knowing she’s okay alone, and there’s no messing…”

“Well she knows me through and through,
She knows just what to do, and how to please me…”

And the capper:

“Never would abuse her…” Gosh, Paul, does that really need to be said? I mean, is that behaviour actually remarkable?

This is the same lyrical Lothario who started a love song with “I’m so young and you’re so old…” 🤷

I feel a clobber comming on but I feel that anything done by Kid Rock is not good. I am sorry but I just dont like the man or what he stands for.

I have no clue what he sounds like, stands for or is like. I don’t know what Coldplay, Britney Spears, or any rock-pop star or group has sounded like by name since 1999, and then I was aware of two groups, a little bit: Chumbawumba and Oasis. Oh, yeah, I knew what Brian Setzer was doing in 2001 and David Bowie just barely but I didn’t like what Bowie was doing by then. I see celebrity mags and have no idea who most of the people on the covers are. I know a few smatterings of Christian contemporary but mostly I hear the songs covered and never know who wrote what and what the original recording sounded like.

For my vote- AC/DC’s Big Balls song… it’s disturbing and gives me nausea…

what are you talking about its about ball room dancing

no here here is what is

“The song is ostensibly about a person who hosts social balls” wikipedia

so take that
You should provide the rest of the line from Wikipedia:
"…with constant double entendres about sexual activities and testicles.
From the American Heritage Dictionary

**os·ten·si·ble **
adj. Represented or appearing as such; ostensive: His ostensible purpose was charity, but his real goal was popularity.

From Dictionary.com:
outwardly appearing as such; professed; pretended: an ostensible cheerfulness concealing sadness. (meaning 1)
From Merriam-Webster:
1 : intended for display : open to view 2 : being such in appearance : plausible rather than demonstrably true or real

Maybe you should actually give the link.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Balls

And copy the entire sentence.
The song is ostensibly about a person who hosts social balls, with constant double entendres about sexual activities and testicles.
And look up the word “ostensibly”.
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ostensibly

If you’re going to be excessively defensive, at least check your facts.

May I just add at this point…

EWWWW.

Ok, that beats insane yodeling.

Okay, I don’t even like AC/DC or hair metal in general, but you guys made me listen to it and this is just hilarious.

And if this makes you guys nauseous… never listened to GWAR, have you? 😃

oh wow thanks!
has anyone nominated
“this is for all the lonely people, thinking that life has passed them by…
dont give up until you drink from the silver cup and ride that highway in the sky!”

is that America who did that song?
It really does it for me!!! 😛
