“Seasons in the Sun” (so over played I wanted to shoot the singer to put him and the rest of us out of our misery 😃 )

“Timothy” (cannibalism among trapped miners 😊 )

“DOA Bloodrock”

“Total Eclipse of the Heart” (VERY disturbing (young teen male images) yet hilariously over-wrought video (same director for Meatloaf)

“Seventeen”–we considered this so gut wrenching at the time, Janis Ian got the Grammy for this song–when I saw the SNL w/ George Carlin repeat afew weeks ago, Janis was one of the music guests–seems like SHE even despised lip-sinking to it

Absolute junk can be found HERE

Caution: You will have this in your head allllllllll day long!

“Havin’ My Baby”–now that I’m Catholic, I STILL think it is the worse song ever written.

“Seasons in the Sun”–yecch.

“Wildfire”–yecch.

Also, “Tomorrow” from Annie. It’s actually a good song, but I am still waiting to hear someone sing it without over-accenting the second syllable.

Upside Down
Woman in Love
Hooked on a Feeling
YMCA
This Girl Is a Woman Now
Young Girl
Woman, Woman, Have You Got Cheating on Your Mind?
Girl, You’ll Be a Woman Soon (and he still won’t learn your name)
Jesse’s Girl
YMCA? :crying: How could you?

And don’t ANYONE nominate Smells Like Teen Spirit, or else!

Any rap song in existence, especially Soldier Boy.
While there are some raps songs I like, I agree with you on Soulja Boy. That song is so redundant and repetitive, just hearing the first few notes of it makes me wanna move ten miles away from the source. :banghead:

Other than that, I also hate rap songs that are just too materialistic and have no significant emotion in them. (cough50centcough)

Can’t listen to Disturbed without getting a headache, don’t even find their music disturbing. (It’s made even worse by the fact that this song is all over the radio, probably because it’s top on the mainstream rock charts.)

I’d post Heart-Shaped Box (the Nirvana one, not the Evanescence cover, which made it somehow bearable.), but the music vid is, for lack of a better term, rather trippy.

But, in Nirvana’s defense, I would not hesitate to include Smells Like Teen Spirit as one of my favorite songs. But still, post-grunge is more my thing.
I don’t find them disturbing either. I really wish they hadn’t made their cover of “Land of Confusion”… it wasn’t any good, and now that version’s the one that the radio’s like to play, rather than the Genesis version, which exceeds amazingness.

For my vote- AC/DC’s Big Balls song… it’s disturbing and gives me nausea…

Just for fun:

(If you’re not familiar with it, this is supposed to be the Mariah Carey song “Can’t Live”, but the English lyrics got a little mangled.)

She’s become an internet celebrity after this clip became a bit hit on YouTube.

“MacArthur Park” was my first thought, I see it was someone else’s, too (“I don’t think that I can take it, cause it took so long to bake it”) and “I Am I Said” was my second.

How about the one that goes “I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing… Then I finally died, which started the whole world living” The guy even “fell out of bed”, hurting his head on things that he’d said! That one definitely comes up when I sing “songs you’ll never believe were on the radio” to my kids!

Thanks a lot! I didn’t even listen to it (I quickly hit the X in the corner as soon as I saw the song title) but it’s still stuck in my head. 😛
When I saw this thread, that is the first song that comes to mind. Sorry. Consider it nominated.
Smells Like Nirvana, however, is an excellent song! 😃

As far as worst songs go, I’ll have to think for a little while. I know there’s many songs I’ve hated over the years, but I think I’ve mentally blocked them out. 😉

We will have to agree to disagree. That song is #1 on my list.
I’m not talking about “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana, I’m talking about “Smells Like Nirvana”, the Weird Al parody of the Nirvana song.
