There are two debunkings necessary here:
  1. The non-Muslim scientists never converted to Islam, even after supposedly saying such wonderful things about the ‘science’ in Islam. Why is that? The non-Muslim science biggies touted by Islamists such as Keith Moore and Maurice Bucaille NEVER converted to Islam. I suppose it shows a distinct lack of conviction.
  2. The red rose nebula is not red. It’s a classic BLUE-GREEN planetary nebula. The red color from A SINGLE NASA photo was put in by a technician. It is a FALSE color rendition.

Ten centuries ago, the Muslim Empire was at its zenith ;its various parts vying with one another in producing intellectual giants in every branch of art and science. Many of these great men practiced in the field of healing arts, and their works became the basis on which modern medicine has been founded .without them ,we would not have seen the progress that we take for granted today in various branches of health and medicine all over the world. These great men of thought were active in many of the branches of medicine that are practiced today, such as ophthalmology, anatomy, internal medicine, psychiatry and preventive medicine. It is only nowadays that western doctors are beginning to acknowledge the debt that is owed to these early Muslim scholars.

Not true. Western doctors have known and properly acknowledged for quite some time what exactly the achievements of early Muslim scholars on medical science. What Muslims don’t acknowledge is that Arab/Muslim medicine was built on Christian foundations. Muslims seem to suggest Western medicine owes its origins to Muslim medicine, but they don’t acknowledge that their own medicine owes its origin to Nestorian Christians.

The field of Islamic Medicine owes its origins to two Christians, Yahya ibn Masawayh and Hunain ibn Ishaq. The Nestorian Christian, Yahya ibn Masawayh, wrote many works on fevers, hygiene, and dietetics. His was the first treatise on ophthalmology, but he was soon surpassed in this field by his famous pupil, Hunain ibn Ishaq, aka Johannitius, whom some regard as the father of Arab medicine.

1)Ibn Al-Khatib(1313-1374)

Ibn Al-Khatib was one of the earliest of these scholars. He lived in Granada, Spain and his most famous work is on the theory of infection:
‘There are those who ask," How can we allow for possibility of infection?"
We reply that the existence of contagion is established by experience, investigation, the evidence of the senses and trustworthy reports. These facts create a sound argument, so that the fact of infection becomes clear to the investigator, who notices how those in contact with afflicted people get the disease, whereas those not in contacts remain safe. The investigator also sees how transmission occurs through clothing, cups, and earnings.’

Moses was the first person in recorded history to understand contagion. He made contagion laws in relation to leprosy.

2-Mohammed Ibn Zakaria ‘Rhazes’(841-926)

Mohammed Ibn Zakaria Alrazi was a Hakim; an alchemist and a philosopher .In medicine ,his contributions were so significant that they can only be compared to those of Ibn Sina .Some of his works in medicine , e.g.: Kitab al-Mansoori, Al-Hawi, Kitab al-Mulooki and kitab al-Judari wa al-Hasabah, earned him everlasting fame. Kitab al-Mansuri, which was translated into Latin in the 15th century AD, was in ten volumes and dealt exhaustively with Graeco-Arab medicine. Some of its volumes were published separately in Europe. Al-Judari wal Hasabah was the first treatise on smallpox, measles, scarlet fever and chicken-pox, and is largely based on Razi’s original contributions .It was translated into various European languages , and was the first to describe clinical differences between chicken-pox and measles so vividly that nothing since has been added .His book on children’s diseases is regarded as the first of its kind

3)Abul Qassim Al-Zahrawi ‘Albucasis’

He is best known for his breakthroughs In surgery as well as for his famous Medical Encyclopedia called Al-Tsrif- thirty volumes covering different aspects of medical science .This contained three books on surgery , which describe in detail various surgical procedures including cauterization ,amputation in the cases of gangrene and cancer ,lithotomy , craniotomy ,removal of stones from the bladder , dissection ,midwifery , and surgery of the eye ,ear and throat . He perfected several delicates operations, including amputation, and instrumental delivery of foetus in childbirth.

Al-Tasrif was first translated by Gherado de Cremona into Latin in the Middle ages. The book contains around one hundred diagrams and illustrations of surgical instruments, in use or developed by him, and comprised a part of medical curriculum in European countries for many countries.
Al-Zahrawi was also a dental expert and his book contains sketches of various instruments used .in addition to a description of various dental operations .He discussed how to rectify non-aligned teeth, and how to prepare artificial teeth to replace them.

The father of surgery is widely regarded as the Indian physician Sushruta. 2600 years ago he and health scientists of his time conducted complicated surgeries like cesareans, cataract, artificial limbs, fractures, urinary stones and even plastic surgery and brain surgery. Usage of anesthesia was well known in ancient India. Over 125 surgical equipment were used. Deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology, etiology, embryology, digestion, metabolism, genetics and immunity is also found in many texts.

Ibn Sina ‘Avicenna’ (980-1073)

Ibn Sina wrote the Qanun fi Al-Tibb ( the canon of Medicine),transelated into latin by Gherardo de Cremona and edited more than fiften times in Latin.It formed half of the medical curriculum of the European universities up to the end of the fifiteenth century. The Canun Fi Al-Tibb is an immense encyclopidia of medicine of over a million words , and surveying all midical knowledge available from Muslim and other sources . The book is also rich with the auther’s original contributions including such advances as recognitions of the contagious nature phthisis and tuberculosis; distribution of diseases by water and soil ,and interaction between psychology and health.
In addition to describing pharmacological methods , the book described 760 drugs and become the most authentic material medical of the era. Ibn Sina was the first to recognize meningitis, to differentiated pleurisy from ‘simple inflammation of the mediastinum and abscess of the upper surface of the liver’. He also distinguished between obstructive ,hemolytic and hepatic jaundice and made rich contributions to anatomy ,gynecology and child health .Ibn Sina originated the idea of the use of the oral anesthetics including opium, mandragora , deadly nightshade (belladonna),lettus seed and snow or ice cold water.

Ibn Sina was also a heretic, not a true Muslim. Throughout his lifetime and after his death, Muslims often branded him a heretic for his disbelief of certain aspects of Islamic theology.

Ali Ibn Rabban Al-Tabari wrote Firdous al-Hikmaht, the first ever medical encyclopedia that incorporated all the branches of medical science. This encyclopedia dealt with the ideology of medicine ;detailed the organs of the human body, gave rules for keeping good health and gave a comprehensive account of certain muscular diseases .It contained advice on preventative and curative diets. It also held accounts of disease causation; diseases of the head and brain; eye, nose, mouth and teeth; muscular diseases; diseases of the chest, throat and lungs; the abdomen, liver gallbladder spleen and intestines; fever ; and diagnostics through the examination of pulse and urine.

This ‘first ever medical encyclopedia that incorporates all the branches of medical science’ is mere hyperbolic polemics. It is generally regarded that he wrote ‘several’ medical books. To claim this an encyclopedia is hyperbole. Dioscorides (40-90AD) was a Greek surgeon who also wrote several books on medicine and pharmacology, and his works were translated into Arabic as were those by Galen.

Ibn Rabban At-Tabari, who lived about 850 A.D., was often thought by chronicler to have been a Jew, but he was really a Christian of East Persian origin. He is best known for his book. “Paradise of Wisdom”, one of the earliest compendia of medicine in Arabic, dedicated by the author to the Khalif al-Mutawakkil, and largely based on Greek sources, though an appendix to the book includes an exposition of the system of Indian medicine as presented in the work of Caraka, Susruta and others. islamset.com/heritage/Arabian/tolerance.html

Some claim At-Tabari converted to Islam, but it is clear his work was much influenced by Greek and Indian medicine. The historian De Lacy O’Leary claims he was a Jew as his name Ibn Rabban means ‘the son of a rabbi’. His city of origin, Marw, had a known Jewish colony.

You do not see a double standard here gurrato alaien, you may wish to claim there is one, but if you read what I said is “We **all ** need to realize that this kind of fact really does not say anything about a religion except that there are weak and sinful members of that religion.” Did I say Muslims need to realize? Do I say anything about Christianity or Islam? No.

No Christian is sinless. I think you are adding words to your source. Speaking of your source are you going to cite that source and quote from it or simply say you saw it on TV and claim this is what it said because that is what you want it to say?

to be fair, we should compare the lives of the persons who gave the teachings…does any muslim care to compare Jesus to mohammas? did Jesus have more than 10 wives? did he have slaves? did he have slaves for sex? did allah give Jesus women priviledges as he did to mohammad? did jesus ask his disciples to use “azl” when raping?did Jesus allow 72 houri in heaven with big breast or whatever? and you dare point at christianity?? and you dare say it is the same God? are muslims now “saints”? the arabs who go to Dubai, Lebanon, Paris ecc to have sex and get drunk? the Saudi women who, as soon as they set foot in the host country, take off their muslim cloth , underneath them wearing mini-skirts? or maybe prostitution in Iran, Afghanistan, Maghreb, Egypt, Syria? if there are no statistics of muslims, it’s because of hypocrisy.

Hypocracy abounds in humanity, it is not monopolized by Christians my friend. However, we Catholics understand that man is a fallen creature “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Therefore we have the forgiveness of Christ to turn to, for venial sins we pray for grave sins we go to confession. The humility required to tell another person that we have viewed porn or whatever is very cathartic and a sure transmission source of Grace.

Come, visit a Catholic Church. See what the Mass is like, 2000 years of history transmitted to our Apostles from the mouth of Jesus Christ Himself (PBUH) and unchanged to this day.
