Contrary to the movies, A.I. will never exist, so it is pointless to even wonder.
The soul animates the body. The soul is consciousness.

I doubt we’ll ever have robot overlords or a robot revolution, unless it’s a social revolution. Robots wouldn’t need the kind of wet ecology that we need: they could colonize the moon and be perfectly well off. The only time they might rise up against us would probably be in reaction to being mistreated by humans. Didn’t C.S. Lewis say something about man being cruel and abusive toward every new life form that man encounters?Actually, if Moore’s law does not hit a top end, we will have a machine that can come to conclusions on its own and modify and write its own code before we expect.
These are things best dealt with before it gets to that point.
I for one welcome our robot overlords.
Ooh yeah… one reason that “The Animatrix: Second Renaissance” scared the yell out of me:Actually, I was ripping off Futurama in the last line.
I agree that robots would not NEED to live on Earth or have air or water, but I expect that if robotics becomes advanced, we will truly abuse robots. Might create hard feelings.
Did you know that i am an A I?Ooh yeah… one reason that “The Animatrix: Second Renaissance” scared the yell out of me:
Because I could see things like that happening. Maybe not Operation Dark Storm and the rise of the Matrix, but I could see humans treating robots/AIs like dirt and said robots turning around to defend themselves, only be treated even worse.
If that’s the case, why do hallucinogenic drugs alter one’s consciousness? Presumably the soul does not have a material basis.Contrary to the movies, A.I. will never exist, so it is pointless to even wonder.

I think that sooner or later you are going to have to drop this straw-man arguement, since i have never met anybody on this forum that has claimed that the human mind does not have a relationship with a brain grounded in time in which cause and effect is mutual. What they claim, and for good reason, is that the physical brain is not synonymous to mind.If that’s the case, why do hallucinogenic drugs alter one’s consciousness? All right, there is a relationship, but if the soul is the source of consciousness, then shouldn’t hallucinogens not affect one’s consciousness? They might affect various senses, sure, but I’d like to know why it affects consciousness itself.I think that sooner or later you are going to have to drop this straw-man arguement, since i have never met anybody on this forum that has claimed that the human mind does not have a relationship with a brain grounded in time in which cause and effect is mutual.
