I wish that people (myself included) would concentrate more on seeing Christ in others and treating them accordingly. 🙂

All I can say is WOW! I never thought a simple question would result in so many answers and opinions. Thank You All!
Subrosa, where did you get the rose petals? Those look fishy, like someone painted them(even holy images can’t be that clear on a petal) I had never seen the cheese sandwich before, so it is interesting to see what it looked like. When I asked about it before all the responders said the lady who sold it for $28,000 on ebay was not Catholic.
Chris-wa I really am going to get the book you suggested “Hail Holy Queen” . and the other one suggested here…“The Amazing Secret of Souls in Purgatory”
Thanks to all for the amazing response, I guess no question is too stupid to ask.
🙂 BJ

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…I was looking at the weblink you gave…okay, I will say that I do believe that miraculous things can happen BUT, and I hate to say this, but how do we know if the people that took the photos “messed” around with them? What if they used Photoshop to do it (I’m in a Photoshop class in college due to my Graphic Design & Illustration degree)? Believe me, I know what Photoshop can do to photos due with my own experience with projects! I mean, not that I want to lose one’s faith or anything but we need to be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS with them too. Sure, they are very interesting and makes us think when we see and yes, it IS POSSIBLE that they can happen, but how do we know for sure if they’re REALLY, literally, truly from God in reality?

I agree. The Pastor of our church always says something about, why don’t you take some time to greet the people around you, and notice how God is in every one of us. If everyone walked through their day that way…WOW, that would be awesome!

Puhleeze!

This just goes to show how much fakery is going on out there.

Six seers in the Philipines? Six con artists more likely. Move over Simon Magus!

There is something really wrong with a spirituality that relies on signs like these.

I can tell you one thing: I’ve never known any woman who would be pleased if you said to her, “Hey, that water stain under the freeway looks JUST LIKE YOU!”

hello michael,

please, don’t be judgemental.i remember in the early 90’s,i watched a documentary about the apparition of our lady of lipa in the philippines.the person, who hosted the show, was an ex catholic,i.e. she left the rcc and joined a nondenominational christian “born again” group.when she was commisioned to investigate the phenomenon, she took the job right away, and said to herself that it was perfect for her,as she will be impartial, due to her newly found faith.during the interview with the visionaries, numerous witnesses, who provided her with proof ,including petals that bore the image of the virgin mary that were kept for decades, by the people, who caught them while they were being dropped from the sky during the said apparition.these witnesses were shown on broadcast tv together with the close up photos of the petals.she has then returned to rcc and had several documentaries shown on ewtn.

I think that the water mark is just a water mark. But I also think that if a water mark makes some people pray more, that is OK with me…After all, none of us ever prays as much as we should, do we??

A nice thought quoted by Michelle Arnold on Jimmy Akin’s blog:

“You probably caught that ‘Our Lady of the Underpass’ story. I admit I tend to roll my eyes when people see the Blessed Virgin in pieces of toast and parking garage walls. However, lately I’ve been smiling at the idea of the Child Jesus scribbling pictures of Mommy all over – just because he can, you know?

I think those who mock people’s faith and piety should try to have a change of heart like this person did.
