Halal has been around forever…perhaps not here in the States or our supermarkets but it has been around.
So your issue is just with anything Muslim?
Welllll, I think I was just talking about The good old United States…I know Halal is in other countries.

I actually had a good experience today with an Iranian woman who performed an Ultrasound on me at my hospital. I thought she was Spanish b/c she looked it and had an accent, and my hospital has a lot of Hispanics working there. Anyway we got to talking, and she said she loved Jesus and then she said “Poor Jesus.” She said this b/c she saw my cross around my neck. I asked her if she was Muslim and she answered yes. She said she didn’t like her Iranian president. We talked a bit and for whatever reason, I asked her after she stated something, why does one kill in the name of Islam. she looked at me and said “because they are stupid.” I will never forget her. She was very kind.

I use the work “Kippah” so I don’t have to worry about spelling Yamulkah.

THe reality is Kosher coke is exactly the same as regular coke. The Rabbi is just making sure the equipment being used to make and bottle it is not also being used to make or bottle non-kosher stuff.
‘Kosher’ makes it sound more appealing, as I have a great admiration for the Jewish brethren. 👍

Does the Kosher Coke have anything on the label to indicate it’s Kosher?

BTw, there’s a bit of controversy over the Hebrew Nationals. Some communities are not satisfied with its kosher status. It does not have the OU symbol that many jews require.

This goes to show that we’re all a little bit crazy.

yes. It should have one of the symbols that Karin had posted earlier. and the Kosher for Passover coke says “Kosher for Passover”

Kosher means “fit to eat”

I hope that whatever our differences, that if there are ever issues that pop up in your life that are too difficult to handle alone, that you will consider retaining me 🙂
:rotfl: I love Jewish men, they take care of their women. 😉
I will be on the next flight out, I promise. 😉

this is all about money…anyway, McDonalds should serve both kinds of foods, non-halal and halal . Those who ask for halal will be served halal, and those who don’t ask for it will be served regular food.
I wonder though if non-halal food and porc ecc are sold in Islamic countries.

It shouldn’t even come down to this decision. If Muslims want Halal food, let them go to a specialty store just like everyone else.

well why dont you just drop them a line and let them know what you think…
they LOVE to hear from their customers…

also I dont need to go to a specialty store I can get halal meat right along side the kosher meat at our local supermarket

The problem is not that the food is halal per se but that this might become a trend which could eventually deprive non-muslims of the right to choose what they want to eat and what not to eat.
How so? No one, including McDonald’s, has any obligation to provide anything or even be in business. You have a right to choose whatever food you can lawfully obtain, but nobody has an obligation to provide it for you.

Are you Bella’s cousin? 🙂 You drink Kosher coke facing east within 18 minutes before or after sunrise and/or sunset.

Actually, You drink kosher coke like you would drink coke.
When it is kosher for passover, it means that in addition to being bottled under the supervision of a rabbi, it was bottled without any yeast or other rising agents.
I think Kosher for Passover Coke is made with sugar instead of corn syrup, because corn isn’t kosher for Passover, at least for the Ashenkazi. I think the Sephardic may allow it.

BECAUSE MCDONALDS IS AN AMERICAN ICON, NOT A KOSHER HALAL WHATEVER FOOD ESTABLISHMENT…IT’S AMERICA!!
This seems to be the same lame argument Australians use to hide their prejudice.

They say “We are Aussies, people who live here should eat Aussie food”.

The problem is, Australia, like America, were founded by the English.

We both support freedom, which means anyone can live in our countries regardless of race creed or religion.

That means we have to allow for different cultural foods.

America may have hot dogs, Australia may have meat pies, but we surely cant say that our countries have traditional fare that should be put in the same class as exotic Asian or European countries, can we?

Since when do you eat what Muslims eat??
Hi Bella, I mean sassygal,

You really dont know how offensive you are do you?

Tell us more about what Karin does or does NOT do please!

I am not being offensive. You just are extremely sensitive. where is the offense?? I am NOT a Bella, so stop referring me to this he/she please. It is offensive. Is Valke not offensive in his posts? Is RomanCrusader not offensive? Why not say something to them?? Are you biased b/c they are men?
Because I ask Karin a question, that is offensive? I just wanted to know when did she start eating like the Muslim…hardly any offense if you see the other posts…if you aren’t praising Jesus on these Forums, anything else is an offense…please…

It is all just simply food.

If one chooses to eat Chinese food, are they going to be accused of wanting to become Chinese?

If one eats Greek food, are they going to be accused of wanting to become Greek?

If Karin wishes to eat halal meat, that doesn’t mean she wants to become Muslim.

I eat halal sometimes, it doesn’t change the taste of the cow just because it has been slaughtered humanely, and Allah’s name spoken over it.

As you said sassy, you eat kosher hot dogs, so what is your true gripe with halal?

It is clearly prejudice against Muslims.

You say kosher has been around longer than halal, maybe so seen as the Jewish religion has been around longer.

But just like Australia, America is a free country, and takes all people in.

This immigration comes in waves.

In Australia, in the early 20th century, it was the Chinese who came here and introduced us to their food.

Later it became Indians and Sri Lankans, and along with them came the curries.

After the Vietnam War, Australia experienced a surge of Vietnamese immigrants, bringing with them their food.

Now it is Muslims. Maybe because they are fleeing to better countries as their countries are ruled by the taliban, who knows.

But I don’t see how we should not embrace their food, just like we did with all the other non-traditional stuff.

Roman Crusader is not a good analogy here. Yes, sorry you are offensive.

IF I AM NOT PRAISING JESUS ON THESE FORUMS!!!

You have done it now! Go to confession for proclaiming FALSE WITNESS against ME to NOT proclaim JESUS CHRIST…

LORD have Mercy!

If McDonalds sells Hindu foods will that mean we are doomed too? Or just doomed to having a harder time deciding what to order?
ah, I thought Hindu people did not eat cows because they are sacred or holy?

How much saw dust does MD put in their burgers anyway?

Damascus, you probably need confession before me. And another misinterpretation here.
