Since the Halal or Kosher meat tastes better than the “junk” that is sold otherwise…😃
I also eat Matzoh, and curries, chineese and korean food too along with lots of other ethnic foods:D
So when did you become jewish or are you becoming jewish…eating Kosher hotdogs and all:p

Lest I be misinterpreted, I’m all for praising Jesus.

That said, the quote above seems to me to be incorrect. This is the Non-Catholic Religions forum.

I come to this particular part of the CA forums to learn about faiths other than my own, and, through friendly conversation, to better understand points of similarity and difference between Catholicism and other religions–and to share my understanding of my own faith with others, should they inquire.

And I do mean learn about other faiths–not insult them or snipe at them. It’s possible to love our own faith–and believe it’s the true faith–without having to insult others.

Not, of course, that praising Jesus is bashing others. But I have seen plenty of non-Catholic bashing in the Non-Catholic Religion forums in the several weeks I’ve been lurking.

I tend to agree. I see a great deal of naivete concerning the inroads this religion of “peace” is making, starting with the food. They want us to gradually “adapt” to them and not them adapting to us even within our own countries where they are the minority, all for the sake of being “nice” towards them. As for being respectful, Islam is hardly the tolerant, respectful faith in countries where it is the majority. They simply don’t believe in the saying “When in Rome, do as the Romans do!” except of course within their own countries.

While I do believe in tolerance as a virtue, I also believe that a clear line must be drawn somewhere.

A little Economics 101 is in order here. McDonald’s is not making a concession. They are making a very savvy market move to increase profits.

BTW, your post is precisely the sort of claptrap issued against Catholic immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries.

In Sassy’s defense, she was not, I think, accusing anyone of not praising Jesus. ON the contrary, what she was saying is that any comment she made that didn’t praise Jesus was viewed as an insult or criticism. THat if you’re not praising Jesus, you’re being attacked here. She was responding to criticism of her posts, not accusing anyone of failing to praise Jesus.

Gotta give credit where credit was due.

That sounds right. I don’t know if Coke is always made with corn syrup or if it depends on the cost of the ingredient. But that would certianly be an issue for kosher for passover drinks. No corn syrup.

Coke used to be made with real sugar (sucrose), but in recent years practically all soft drinks (except the diet versions of course) use corn syrup because of the price.

I never got an answer to my question about whether halal applies only to meat. Are there rules for halal vegetables, fish, etc, or are all vegetables halal?
