I’m sure some of you have seen this mass before.

I think this mass is absolutely awesome. I also believe it may be the form of the mass that is being celebrated 100 years from now – the so-called future hybrid mass that some allude to.

Yes, I’m just guessing, No, I don’t have any references. 😛

Gorgeous OF Mass

If this mass were less than a mile from your home, how many of you who attend the OF or EF would be happy celebrating a mass such as this every Sunday?

You probably need an option for those who would prefer the Mass to be more reverential, (incense, traditional music, vestments, etc.) but who wish it in the vernacular. Choosing "I would not attend this Mass, I like my Mass just the way it is", is not an accurate choice as I would like to see some changes in the Mass I regularly attend. They just don’t happen to be the changes suggested in the link you provided. Give me a Mass that looks and sounds like an Anglican-use High Mass but is versus populum and that would be the perfect Mass for me.

Ah yes. Too late to change options. Just choose, I would not attend this mass and explain why, please. 🙂

I will have to watch it at home later as I cant watch media at work then give my decision then.

I love it and would attend it. I also like this is an Anglican Use parish and they take the Gospel, the Crucifix, and the Candles out in the middle of the pews for the reading. 🙂

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Tony

Love this (especially since it’s in Texas)!

I would make a Mass like this my “regular” Mass if it was within a half hour drive.

I especially liked that it was a dialogue Mass and all the kids seemed to be responding? Is a dialogue Mass the norm in Anglican Use?

Not every Sunday. I would be more likely to attend such a mass on the Holy Days of Obligation.

The normal me: I think this is awesome!!
The Liturgical nit-pick: There’s one thing missing. Truelight and BenedictGal probably know what I’m going to say. Can anyone guess? (hint, I just watched the beginning).

That Mass itself is a Novus Ordo done in Latin though I believe the parish is an Anglican Use one. My understanding is that they have a Latin OF Mass in the evening once a week or so and that the remainder of the Masses are either the High or Low Mass based off of the Book of Divine Worship, but I could be wrong.
This is an actual Anglican Use High Mass.

God Bless!

I already attend a reverent OF Mass when I am downtown, its at the RC Cathedral here in Vancouver 👍

Although I foresee the future “hybrid” Mass would still be on a freestanding table. Just because it makes more sense for concelebration, and its something that we should never go back on.

Is it the propers?

I would attend. I’d vote in the poll but for some reason it won’t let me. :aok:

I don’t know if it is the hybrid Mass --but does look to be the Mass --more closely resembling what the Council intended.

I would NEVER attend a parish where the OF Mass was referred to as the “novus ordo” or “n.o.” mass. So while the opening frame of the video is fine, it’s YouTube name is repugnant.

I personally prefer the Gloria, and the Sanctus in Latin, the Kyrie in Greek and the rest in the vernacular.

Yep, its the Anglican Use Mass and I would attend once in a while. But i would rather attend the EF any day.

Constantine, have you tried the Holy Family parish in Vancouver?

Well I attend Mass at a Benedictine monastery of the Solesmes congregation. So it would be pretty hard to improve on their liturgy (propers and ordinary in Gregorian chant, the rest in French plainchant, and very reverential), so I voted “I like my Mass just the way it is” 😃
