Would you marry a bisexual who lives a heterosexual lifestyle, who will never cheat on you, has opposite sex attractions and doesn’t act on his/her same-sex attractions?

Well, since I am one myself, It would be hypocritical of me to say no.

I suppose the fact that they are chaste would make the fact that thet are bisexual merely a temptation.

Of course I would be willing to. In fact, I went on a date once with a Catholic who fits this very description.

Their bisexuality would not be a factor for me.

I dated a young lady who was bisexual before she gave her life to Christ. So, yes.

Peace,
Ed

I think some people have married bisexuals without knowing it, and then some change after marriage, so that depends on the persons involved.

No, although I have no good reason for saying so other than hesitation. Perhaps I can overcome it.

I voted “other” because while I do agree with the principle that it’s okay to marry someone who identifies as bisexual if they are 100% NEVER going to cheat with the same sex, in real life, I cannot be 100% sure. It would really depend on how strong these same-sex attractions are in this person, if the person acted on them before, etc. A person who actually identifies as bisexual probably has much stronger urges toward the same sex than someone who doesn’t.

Now, perhaps I feel this way because I am a woman, and I’d be at a much higher risk of adverse outcomes from a husband cheating with a man, such as AIDS and other STDs. A wife cheating with a woman is of course wrong as well, but the risk of fatal STDs is much lower. And so far, it seems most of the people answering “why not” are men.

I voted no. Though you say with 100% assurance that they won’t cheat (physically), I would always wonder about what’s going on in his mind. There’s no proof sufficient that I am not of the the preferred gender at the moment, nor that I am not being used.

Also, though I believe it to be a sin to practice bisexuality, a marriage cannot be based on a “means/end” basis. I would be the means to an end. Not good enough for me.

If you marry a heterosexual, by your same logic you can’t be sure 100% that they are NEVER going to cheat on you with an opposite-sex partner.

Is that a reason not to marry them?

Then why would it be in the case of a potential spouse who happens to be attracted to members of both sexes? Resisting the temptation of same-sex activity is already under the umbrella of resisting the temptation of sexual activity with anyone other than you, their spouse.

If you marry someone who is attracted to both sexes, the odds in favour of adultery are doubled.

If they give in to same sex attractions after the marriage, is it clasiffied as ‘adultery’? Or is adultery only between heterosexuals?

The point remains: the self-denial your spouse accepts by marrying you is not to have sex with anyone else as long as you are alive. That commitment asks exactly the same level of self-denial of a chaste bisexual as it does of a heterosexual.

I’m not sure. I would guess that it counts as adultery, too. Which would make it a double whammy: homosexuality and adultery all rolled in to one.

It’s adultery

I do not believe in bisexuality, homosexuality nor transgendered as an identity or terminal condition, so…there you have it.

Yes, but I consider myself bi-curious right now, so this is coming from a more liberal perspective… but I think it’d be fine; I’d be glad to share my life with someone open and accepting of alternative lifestyles and homosexuality. 😃
Don’t judge 😛

And may your life ahead be a balance of knowledge and wisdom. Truth and charity go hand in hand. Don’t be fooled by the devil whose favorite color is gray, as it blurs the truth, confuses and leads the non-discerning to sin.

This question, I think, is evidence of a very pernicious myth that’s been around for awhile and that is that there’s something powerful and special about the sex drives of someone who is homosexual or bisexual, something of a mandate, where the sinful behavior is so innate that it is nearly impossible to resist.

that myth is used to perpetuate thoughts such as “I can’t help it” and “this is just how it is” as excuse and justification for selfish sinful behavior.

To all those who voted–Sure why not… 🤷

Can you be happy knowing that they want someone of their same sex even though they are not acting on it?

If you say that they don’t act and don’t want than that negates them being bisexual.
