besides the obvious answer, pro-choice, i have never understood why so many vehemently despise hilary.
Well, I’m vehemently opposed to Socialists and criminals. Her Heinous, the Hildabeast is both of those many times over.

Is it not amazing how religian and politics can make babling idiots out of otherwise well educated and intelligent people???
I dunno, what’s “religian” bub?

Michael C:
Where was Hillary yesterday? Of course she can’t just comment on the Iraqi elections and be “real”. As with her husbands presidency she has to wait to see the polls. This brings back memories. God forbid she speaks from her heart for the first time in her life.
What heart? Oh, you mean that block of ice in her chest? Not likely.

I know plenty of people who are not pro-life, and they also vehemently hate Hillary. I don’t know why a strong, intelligent woman should engender such hatred. I think the idiots on talk radio have helped bring this mindless hatred to the foreground.

Then I remember that Eleanor Roosevelt had her vociferous detractors as well. She wasn’t pro-abortion, but she was a strong woman with strong opinions and an amazing lady. Yet, many people criticized her for her looks, and hated her.
Hmmmm… what do you think of Dr. Condi Rice? She’s strong and a lot more intelligent than Hillary. But the reasons to dislike Hillary are manyfold. Especially her stances on policy. I tend to think Catholics who like Hillary are either cafeteria Catholics or are willingly staying blind to the horrible things she stands for.

Her name was inspired by the Italian musical notation con dolcezza, meaning to play “with sweetness.” Today, however, it conjures many other meanings: poise, strength, conviction. Rice may be sweet, but she’s no pushover.

At 47, she is the stern but cautious driver behind America’s foreign policy, the first female and the second African American (after Colin Powell) to serve as national security adviser to the president, and a committed Christian who unabashedly talks about her dependence on God.

Being a “deeply religious person” has helped Rice rise to the challenge of serving a nation that has been shaken to its foundations by terrorism and international conflict. And that has meant turning frequently to prayer—and not the kind laced with a “laundry lists of requests.” When she needs “guidance and strength of conviction,” says Rice, she often reads Romans 5, “which essentially says, Glory also in tribulation, because tribulation breeds perseverance and perseverance patience, and with patience comes hope. And hope is never disappointed, because of faith in the glory of God.”

“When I’m concerned about something, I figure out a plan of action, and then I give it to God,” she told Essence magazine earlier this year. “I just ask to be carried through it. God’s never failed me yet.”

Well Deus Vult, I mentioned Condi, but of course would not vote for her. She’s pro-abortion. That’s a vote-killer in my book. A shame, she’s a brilliant person.

I was trying to be funny…I was poking fun at the fact that she considers herself so religious yet wishy-washy at best on abortion. I have a weird sense of humor…maybe I should have been clearer. Her position as a “mildly pro-choice” Republican. Is ridiculus She explains that she is “in effect kind of libertarian on this issue,” I am Roman Catholic on this and all issues…My religion can not be seperated from my politics…but hey she is a Presbyterian’s preacher’s daughter what should we expect.

Plus we can ask Mother Teresa’s intercession, Pope John Paul the Great and Sr. Lucia and St. Pio, shall I go on? The Blessed Mother, all the angels and saints, otherwise, unless she repented, converted and made every effort to show that she had indeed changed her ways…in the mean time, hell would have to freeze over my dead body first. Even then, I woulnd’t. (for obvious reasons)

No I wouldn’t. She’s pro-choice and I won’t vote for a pro-choice candidate.

No. However, the way the current administration is running the country, I FEAR she will be elected in 08. (Backlash from the moderates especially in the midwest.) Especially, if the Republicans put out Rudy. G. I would hope if those were our only options, we wouldn’t have many of the Catholic-Republicans found in these here pages making arguments and justifications for the lesser of the two evils in Rudy G.

I’m a “lesser of two evils” voter, but I will NOT be voting for Rudy in the primary. NOPE.

Well…if she converted to orthodox Catholicism, thus becoming unapologetically pro life…maybe. 😃

catholic in name only, It’s sad that most Catholic colleges seem to be this weak, South Bend seems to be leading the way.
Has anyone written or contacted the Cardinal Newman Sociey? They do much here. Also write a letter to the BISHOP and the Chancellor of the DIOCESE where this college is located!!! Don’t delay!! That college is supposed to be Catholic and JESUIT!!! (New York Province Jesuits).

Yes, I would vote for her. I would vote for her again, and again, and again, and again, and . . . 😃

Are you kidding!!!

If she runs and wins, Iam moving to Mexico, its going to be empty by the time she runs anyway!!

Unfortunately I think Hillary Clinton will be our next president. Her views are Anti-Catholic on many issues including Pro-Abortion, Pro Homosexual Marriage & Pro-Killing of Human Embryo’s just to get me started. She really is the last individual I would ever vote for in the US.

I have voted Republican in the past but now consider myself an Independent Voter. The top candidates for the Republicans (Guliani, etc) are almost all Pro-Abortion also. I used to believe in the voting of the lessor of two evils but Judy Brown of the American Life League has convinced me otherwise. The only way to get rid of Abortion is to get people to stop using Contraception & voting only for 100% Pro-Life candidates. I am definitely convinced about this now!!

I believe those opposing Hillary will get categorized as those who do not want a woman as President instead of those who do not want a Pro-Abortion President. I can see it now.

I personally would like to see someone with the views of a Rick Santorum, Alan Keyes or Peggy Noonan as President.

**I really forsee myself writing in a candidate in the '08 Election. I do not want my ballot to be void so can someone post the rules for each state for writing in a candidate not on the ballot?? **

for all of you catholics that said yes to this question maybe you need to understand the churches teaching on abortion and homosexual marriage. you cannot be pro choice and be catholic.
you must have voted for kerry too

CLW001,

If you know any so-called Catholics who vote for “Pro-Choice” candidates, you must send them this letter to the editor to read!!!

Do Catholics enjoy Dems bashing their faith, or are they just plain stupid?

Tuesday, October 15, 2002

What is there about Catholics that they don’t know when Democratic politicians ridicule them and their Christian faith? They will even go so far as to vote for these same people, who trash their religion and their God.

For instance, there is Catholic, Jim Ryan, a Republican, who is running for governor of Illinois. He is a good man and adheres to the Doctrine of the Catholic Church. He believes God, when He says, “Thou Shalt Not Kill.”

He is running against Democrat, Rod Blagojevich, who accepts the proposition that a woman should have the right to have her unborn child killed, if she so chooses. Not only does Blagojevich condone the killing of unborn children, BUT, he even does not want partial-birth abortions banned.

For those, who are not familiar with this gruesome and barbaric procedure, read carefully and if you have just one fiber of common decency left in your entire body, you will NOT vote for Blagojevich.

In these late term abortions, the entire baby is delivered except for the head. Otherwise it would be murder. Then the abortionist stabs the back of the viable baby’s heads with a pair of scissors. He then opens the scissors to enlarge the hole and introduces a catheter. The baby’s little arms and legs which have been flailing away, then suddenly stop as the baby’s brains are sucked out with a powerful suction machine.

How could such a compassionless man who condones the above be fit to lead the great state of Illinois?

The American Medical Association says that partial-birth abortion is NEVER needed to save the mother’s life, nor to ensure her health. It is not an emergency procedure. The cervix has to be dilated over a 24-48 hour period prior to the abortion.

No reputable doctor would use this method, unless he/she wants to be sued for malpractice. Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath “to first do no harm.”

Democrats receive large sums of money from the abortion industry, and the industry does not want partial-birth abortions banned. It is just a way for a woman to have her child killed in late term if she changes her mind and does not want the child.

It seems the only way to climb the Democratic political ladder is on the backs of dead children. But as is the custom of Democratic politicians - so be it - more votes and money that way.

It is a scientific fact that human life begins at conception. We now have DNA for the ultimate proof, which was not available when the killing of unborn children was legalized.

But the Democratic party will have no part of the truth. The vote is their God, and the children be damned.

Catholic candidates have even had to write to thousands of Roman Catholics in various states, soliciting their support for their campaigns and stressing that they share the church’s viewpoints on abortion, school vouchers, and homosexual “partnerships.”

Why would Catholic candidates even have to plead with Catholics to vote for them instead of their pro-choice [to kill unborn children] rivals?

Why can’t Catholics just choose life over death? Why can’t Catholics honor God and His commandment, “Thou Shalt Not Kill?”

The reason they have to do this is because Catholic bishops are sitting in their ivory towers and doing little, or nothing to get their flocks to vote for pro-life candidates.

continued…

Illinois is a heavily Catholic populated state, so why is the race in Illinois so close? If Catholics voted their faith, but more importantly, if they voted for God and His commandment, “Thou Shalt Not Kill,” Ryan would win easily.

How is this humanly possible? Are Catholics stupid, or do they really enjoy being the beneficiaries of name calling by Democrats, who call all people of faith, “the religious right.” If you attend church every week, you are a religious fanatic. Catholics not only accept this, but even vote for these very same people who ridicule and trash their faith.

Fifty-one percent of Catholics voted for Democrat Al Gore for president. Not only is he a pro-abort, but, as Blagojevich, even did not want the barbaric partial-birth abortion banned.

Gore is also a man who would like to see the only protectors of unborn children in the United Nations kicked out - the Vatican. Thus silencing not only Christians but pro-life views of all faiths.

Gore also endorsed World Pride 2000, the world’s first international homosexual “pride” event, held in Rome from July 1 through July 9. even sending them an encouraging letter after the Vatican expressed its displeasure about the week-long event that would culminate in a massive street demonstration, where they flooded the city, which surrounds the Vatican, with hundreds of thousands of homosexual activists engaging in parody of the Church and overtly sexual displays.

The fact that millions of pilgrims were to visit Rome due to the millennial Jubilee celebrations did not sway Gore. This is the reason homosexuals chose Rome for their first international flaunting of their perverted and deadly lifestyle, which is clearly admonished in the Bible.

Yet, 51% of Catholics rewarded Al Gore with their vote. His bashing the Vatican made no difference to them.

Just what would it take for Catholics to say, “we are tired of Democrats constantly attacking our faith and calling us names.”

Here’s another example of Catholic bashing by Democrats. (Maybe this will be what it takes.) A spokesman for the President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has written a letter to Democrat National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe protesting the DNC’s listing of a virulently anti-Catholic group on the Committee’s web site.

According to The Catholic League, the Rev. Msgr. William P. Fay, the USCCB’s general secretary, wrote to McAulffe at request of the Most Reverend Wilton D.Gregory, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) protesting the DNC’s listing of the anti-Catholic group Catholics for a Free Choice (CFFC) in the “links” section of the DNC’s website.

This comes at a time when the Catholic League has been conducting an ad campaign for several weeks against the DNC for its association with the bigoted pro-abortion group.

In his letter to McAuliffe, Msgr. Fay stressed that the bishops’ conference has publicly said that CFFC is not a Catholic organization and that indeed it works against the teachings of the Church. He cited the May 10, 2000, statement by Bishop Joseph A. Fiorenza, then head of the bishops’ conference, taking CFFC to task for misrepresenting itself as a Catholic group. Msgr. Fay not only asked McAuliffe to remove CFFC from its website, he requested that the DNC add the USCCB’s website ( www.usccb.org ) to its “links” section.

"Its head,(CFFC) Frances Kissling, has long been an open enemy of the Catholic Church. Were it not for the largesse bestowed upon her by wealthy adversaries of the Church, CFFC would collapse tomorrow. It is the Warren Buffetts of this world that keep her afloat. The Buffett Foundation is one of Kissling’s most generous donors.

“Our ad campaign will continue and we will not quit until the DNC breaks all ties with Kissling. If the DNC wants to try to stiff the bishops, as well as millions of Catholics, it will pay a dear price,” Bill Donahue, the President of the Catholic League, warned.

Again, I ask, why do Catholics have to beg the Democratic party to disassociate itself from CFFC? They are not Catholic, they just use the name to induce Catholics to condone the killing of unborn children.
