Oh ok…gotchaPop,
Recall in the OP I stated that in the Protestant world…
your sentiment though accurate does not relate to the division in the Protestant world…

"Many who read this book will insist that it is lacking in compassion since it is so clear and pointed in the presentation of materials that espouse a biblical point of view. Yet there are some issues about which we cannot compromise. We must always speak the ‘truth in love’ but we are required to speak correctives into the culture in which we live. This book succeeds in doing just that.
“It takes courage to stand for our convictions in a pagan culture. Here is a brief but clear statement about a growing heresy that must be named. I highly recommend this book as a counterpoint to some of the highly compromised offerings that frequently come across my desk. This book is a must read for every person involved in the practice of ministry.”
Thanks.Pop,
This has become a book…it is not something I made up…I just discovered it…
The Homosexual Heresy: How Christians Are Being Held Hostage by Dr. Dan Montgomery
Pop,Thanks.
Andrew,I do not think it fair to link the Lutherans with the Metropolitan Community Church. The only thing they have in common is Protestantism.
Many Lutherans like the LCMS have views identical with yours on homosexuality.
While the MCC was founded by a homosexual, it exists for homosexuals and most of the members are homosexual.
How can you compare the MCC to the LCMS with a straight face?
In your post #4 you provide a list of churches that ordain homosexuals, most of them are Lutheran, but for some reason you include the Metropolitan Community Church and the new age Unity School of Christianity.Andrew,
Explain your perception of what it is you see.
Where is it you believe there is a link?
Where is it you see a comparison?

If I were Lutheran I would be highly insulted.

This website orthodoxandgay.com receives numerous emails and contacts from LGBTQ Orthodox people who are seeking to consult with a compassionate and understanding Orthodox priest, or have their same-sex unions blessed by an Orthodox priest or even people looking for a gay friendly Orthodox parish. Some have even asked if I would consider opening a LGBT friendly Orthodox church. What this demonstrates to me is that there are Orthodox faithful who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, or questioning their sexual orientation, who desire to be full members of the Church without denying who God made them to be, or rejecting their God given desire to love and be loved by someone of the same gender. While I understand and support the gay Muslim community in France, their motives and achievements, creating a separate Orthodox parish or groups of churches that would serve the LGBTQ community is not something that I would encourage or support. Orthodox Christians need more unity, not less. Parishes must be centers of love and compassion no matter who comes to church.
Membership is not denied to homosexuals in the LCMS. It is the act that is sinful, not the condition (regardless of how one claims it originates). So, just like the heterosexual, they are encouraged to avoid sin, to apply the law in its three uses - curb, mirror, guide - to live the godly life, and confess and receive absolution when they fail, regardless of the sin committed.Andrew,
I did not create this list…I discovered it as I researched it. I did it without any agenda except to list them…I said…

Did you know that the Catholic Church is not listed as a Church that denies membership…?
What is sad is that the Lutherans are being split as are other denominations, including the Presbyterian, Anglican and Episcopalian…
And the division is coming to Orthodoxy as well…

guardian.co.uk/world/2012/apr/09/archbishop-of-canterbury-crown-nominations-commissionGlynn Harrison, emeritus professor of psychiatry at Bristol University, has written recent articles that criticize gay relationships, saying they “fall short of God’s purpose in creation.” He also says that therapy and “pastoral ministry” may help clergy who want to have a gay relationship but feel that it is unchristian. “There is evidence that some people with unwanted same sex attractions can achieve significant change,” Harrison said.
In a statement issued after his past views were aired, Harrison argued that he does not believe in a “gay cure” and has never offered formal counseling or therapy himself

Andrew,Any Orthodox who commits homosexual acts will not be absolved and denied Holy Communion until he or she fully repents. Just saying a few Hail Mary’s just won’t work.
But to be truthful not all Orthodox priests are completely strict. I knew an Ortho in Dallas who was told if he was faithful to his male lover it would be better than being promiscuous.
Theologian-Psychologist Dan Montgomery says that Christians today are being held hostage to a homosexual heresy that casts aside the Bible and Christian orthodoxy that has anchored the Church for two thousand years. In The Homosexual Heresy you will discover 1) how the homosexual heresy is corrupting Christian orthodoxy; 2) how compassion for homosexuality is becoming the Achilles heel of Christianity; 3) how to handle the unhealthy impact of the gay and lesbian lifestyle on your marriage and family; 4) how to handle it when a friend, work associate, relative, or spouse announces they are gay; and 5) how to apply a psychological and theological course correction that will enable Christians and the Church to combat this heresy with both strength and love.
James,Any Christian sect that wants to legitimize homosexuality is a Christian sect that has put the Cross behind them and looks only at the resurrection. But it is precisely the Cross that is at the very center of the Christian walk. The way back to Paradise is with a cross on our shoulder.
- In this document the expression “person with same-sex attraction” refers to one who feels an erotic and emotional attraction, which is predominant and not merely episodic, towards persons of the same sex, whether with or without sexual relations. The terms “gay” and “lesbian” are not used to define people in the Church’s official teachings and documents. Although these words are common terms in current speech, and many people use them to describe themselves, they do not describe persons with the fullness and richness that the Church recognizes and respects in every man or woman. Instead, “gay” and “lesbian” are often cultural definitions for people and movements
that have accepted homosexual acts and behaviours as morally good.
- In her teaching, however, the Church never condemns persons with same-sex attraction. She carefully distinguishes between an individual’s inclinations or feelings – some of which are transitory and/or situational and others which are deep-seated or permanent – and one’s actions. While homosexual acts are always objectively wrong, same-sex inclinations are not in themselves sinful or a moral failing.
