Yes indeed. But it is much easier to go to Mother!
OK, I think we’ve come to a meeting of the minds now. 🙂

All those in heaven and on earth can participate in God’s work of salvation (what a tremendous gift from a loving God!). And all those in heaven can pray for us. And, since Jesus gave us to Mary and Mary to us, there is no reason not to avail ourselves of that divinely-ordained bond if we choose to.

Mike we are trying to explain the same thing from two different angles. Your safe to say Mary dosent save if we don’t want to go into to much detail. But its more fun this way:) and its not as if you are new to this, you are just rightfully concerned on how we should address this subject.

I have no problem accepting that God offers each of us a gift, to be assist in both our own salvation and that of others. So why don’t we avoid inflammatory language about Mary saving, and simply acknowledge the truth as taught by the Church, which is that Mary is a Christian like us (albeit the only perfect Christian).
Exactly, this type of retoric turns many souls away from The Church. It must stop!

thats an opinion
Its an opinion that maks a lot of sense! Its something that does put people off having a closer look at the Catholic Church. The sense is that if the Church teaches something so basically wrong about who saves us then what are the other teachings about.

When I was in RCIA (long time ago now) some of the group leaders were telling us Mary also saves us. I was concerned about this. When I asked the priest he said that is not true and told these people to stop saying that.
The priest explained to me and the others that Mary could help draw us closer to her son Jesus but that is totally different from saving us.
Anyone trying to argue that is a “saving assist” may as well apply that to everyone. I have convinced friends over the years to look at the true Church and persuaded two of them to join an RCIA program. I’m happy to say they are now Catholics. They thanked me but I certainly don’t think I “saved” them or had a “saving assist”.

You can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink!

No matter who guides us to our Lord, Jesus is the ONLY one who can save us.

Im sorry didnt mean to discreadit ignatious. I know it makes sense but it is still an opinion. I think and its my opinion that if we take the extra time and show people what salvation really means in light of scripture we cant go wrong

But not according to the bible Paul says HE can save. This is bring eternal salvation in an indirect way thats the context. In the very fist post I made the point we do not bring eternal salvation to others in the same manner as Christ.

congrats I have yet brought anyone to the Church im sure it is a great feeling:) You did however bring th3m salvation. Not on your own of course but you saved just as 1Tim4:16 says we can do!
