Well…“yoga” by its definition is “uniting with God”…but if one wants to just do the physical exersices without a spiritual way, one could…but it wouldn’t be “yoga.”
OK, well I do the stretches as part of my martial arts training, but as a Catholic, Hindu spirituality is not a viable path for me. I mean no offence but it is not something we are allowed to engage in
What similarities do you see? I would be interested in hearing about them…
Firstly as I understand it we both agree that God can manifest Himself on Earth in a physical form, and we both agree that He has done it, we just differ on how many times He has done it, and perhaps why, though I am not an expert.

As I understand it the various Hindu sects have their own rituals, and rules which must be followed, as do we.

Generally (and the events taking place in India are an exception) Hinduism teaches compassion and the value of sacrifice, as do we.

Unfortunately there are also some massive differences, such as the nature of God, the nature of the afterlife, etc.

To which I would add that they certainly may not be fine because if you only remember one thing from Catholic moral reasoning, remember that things mean something independent of what we think of them or intend
Actually this works against you. It means that you can’t simply point to the fact that yoga has been used as part of non-Christian worship. You must prove that the poses themselves are intrinsically disordered in some way.

Christianity is the only true religion and the fullness of truth is found only in the Catholic Church.
ALL other religions are false.
Well thus Catholics such as I believe,
but stating that falls empty on other religions.

The best way to say that would be
“To me I believe Catholicism is the only perfect religion in union with Creation, All other religions for me fall into a list of what is Universally accepted - such as Murder - and what is not.
That is the difference. however I do believe there should be tolerance, and a sense to instruct different ways to finding peace in the world”

I don’t think I have to prove that in the same way that I don’t have to prove that playing with matches while standing in a puddle of gasoline is a bad idea in order to warn them not to do it. What I am primarily trying to dispose of is this common error among even many a Catholic that intentions determine reality.

Suppose you show, purely from reason, why it is absurd to picture the divine using animal as well as human forms.

Edwin
Are you saying there are animal gods??

I for one believe only in one God in the persons of the Holy Trinity.
To give any credence to the possibility of animal gods is blasphemy!

Animal gods? I doubt it. I reckon our friend Contarini is saying that all creation is in some way a reflection of God its creator, all gives praise to Him as we say at Mass (’'all creation rightly gives You praise") and, as St Francis of Assisi taught us, all can be used to lead us towards Him.

I was the one who asked for proof.

The specific question was “Proove that your faith is True.”

Now, these texts quoted show the belief of the person, but do they establish truth?

Why don;t we start there. Does your faith teach that there is absolute Truth?

I do not think this derails the thread. It seems to me that the assertion is not about Yoga as exercise but as part of a faith system.
