Well, I didn’t ever meet Helms or Thurmond… I just knew regular people. A lot of people from the South have Democrat roots for a few generations.

And most of the people I have known are Democrats. Not all of them are some of those deplorable things, just as not all on the other side are.

Just because people disagree doesn’t mean that one of them is eeeeeevil.

Who are they been voting for? Did they vote for Obama? Did they vote\for Trump?
 
Recall that the Republican Party began life as an abolitionist party. The first black officeholders in the South (during Reconstruction) were all Republicans.

However, I resent your implication that all racists are Republicans, that all Repiblicans are racists, and that all Democrats, except the ones who aren’t really Democrat, just vote that way, are pure as the driven snow.

I implied nothing of the sort, Nor would I ever do so.
I don’t “resent” your accusation, but I do find it very peculiar.

We all know the choice won’t be Biden’s. It will be the choice of those behind the scenes of the Democratic party.
 
There needs to be intent for it to be racism. But this was a gaff, meant to articulate an obvious assumption already existing among many of all races. It was voiced in a jocular manner that has become quite common, meant to connect with the common man (IMO sort of pathetic, but nevertheless almost standard). It backfired, but to brand him racist is disingenuous by his political detractors as well as those claiming to have authority to judge racism.
I’ll add, I do not expect to vote for anyone except the current President.
 
And Biden never lies? Maybe he only has a vivid imagination about his past.!

Biden lied on at least two occasions about a man named Curtis C. Dunn. Dunn was the tractor-trailer driver who, in 1972, tragically struck and killed Biden’s wife and his infant daughter…
… in a 2001 speech at the University of Delaware, Biden said, “An errant driver who stopped to drink instead of drive and hit – a tractor-trailer – hit my children and my wife and killed them.” But the then-Delaware prosecutor, now a judge, who investigated the accident says, “The rumor about alcohol being involved by either party, especially the truck driver [Dunn], is incorrect.” Furthermore, the tractor-trailer driver had the right of way, and Dunn immediately got out of his truck and tried to render assistance. He was no drunk driver.

Funny - decent men do not manhandle young girls, swim nude in front of female Secret Service agents and lie about a driver being drunk when involved in a traffic accident that killed wife and child. Nor would I think a decent man would lie about his academic record and plagiarize speeches. Nor would they lie about being arrested visiting Mandela and say the many racist things Biden has said through the years - many many racist things. Nor would a decent man use his office to enrich his many family members though contracts and contacts … All of which Biden has done … Trump is a flawed man - but Biden is equally so … and of the two - Biden has been in office [Senate and VP] for years - all without solving the many long standing problems he now wants to lay at the foot of a man who has been in office less than 4 years and has been under attack and smear from the highest most powerful aspects of the government since he announced his candidacy …C’mon Man … if you believe Biden - you aint smart …LOL
