There is a protestant, Episcopal church that holds true to the sacred traditions better than most Catholics do. Heck, they even pray the rosary at this protestant church, have High and Low Mass and believe in the real presences. They even have their altar ad orientum. Come on everyone! If they can do it so can we!

…you attend a Novus Ordo Mass, and your little sister confusedly whispers: “Is this supposed to be Catholic??”

…when an acquaintence tells you that in RCIA “They never told us it was necessary to go to confession”

Why Post V-II in particular? There are a number of Anglo-Catholic parishes that do better than all but a handful of Traditional parishes as well…

When your Diocese Bishop’s web site, and your Parish web site do not prominently promote a link to the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” first printed in the US in March 2000.

The CCC 2nd Ed is the “authentic reference text” for Faith and Morals of the Catholic Church.

Many post Vatican II changes in the US, had nothing to do with Vatican II and were never approved by the Pope as required - such as removing Altar rails with kneelers, not having Latin Masses, etc.

At mine, we were told that saying deliberately missing Mass is the mark of an extremist 😑

Try telling that to the sensitive modernist CEO (Christmas & Easter Only) catholics, who could care less about the Rosary or the the Real Pressence:shrug:

Also, when your confirmation instructor tells you confirmation isn’t needed as long as you go directly to God.

Or you attend mass and all of a suddent people start shaking bootie:eek:

When we’ve left some people in 1960 and haven’t been able to get them to acknowledge it’s 2010

Yes it is true that even today there are a “few” anglo catholic parishes left in the Episcopal church, but most have left and are part of a Continuing Anglican group, of which there are about 100 different groups with different agendas.

Many of the Anglican groups are coming into the Catholic Church through the Apostolic Constitution offered by Pope Benedict.

They will bring in their own patrimony, traditiions and liturgy. If your interested there are already Anglican Use Catholic parishes in the US. Now the offer has gone to every Anglican in any country.

If you go to "Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church, Texas, you can see the full video of their liturgy on the web. Rome decided which changes were to be made over 30 years ago in the liturgy, but now with the new offer the liturgy will change and all are praying it will be more in tune with the original one, which was almost exactly like the EF, except in beautiful English. Also some of the AU parishes offer a Latin Mass.

If anyone watches the video, it is about an hour, but to me worth it, please post your responses.

Remember that the Episcopal church has lost thousands due to women priests, gay women bishops and most of the church doesn’t believe in the Resurrection or other orthodox doctrines. Fine the Anglo Catholic parishes do, but if they truely want to be Catholic why aren’t they joining the Ordinariate?

When you forget you’re at the Novus Ordo Mass, genuflect during the proper part of the Creed & 4 people in your pew assume that you’ve
a. had a heart attack
b. have an injured leg
c. have fainted & are in need of air…
& rush to pull you back up, asking “Are you alright”.

…When someone other than an scowling middle-aged woman in a pant suit approaches the lectern to do the Reading is a statistical anomaly.

…When you can’t get through a single month of Sundays without at least one rousing rendition of “One Bread One Body.”

…When you learn (in confession) that “No one ACTUALLY ever intends to commit a mortal sin”.

… When going to Mass becomes a chore each week because you know that, instead of a reverent, holy experience, you can expect to be bombarded with hand-shaking, singing, people prodding you to hold hands during the “Our Father”, guitars, people running up and down the altar steps and just plain NOISE.

When RCIA instructors state that Purgatory doesn’t exist and call the Mass a "party"or “meal” and spew some “spirit of of Vatican II” garabage out of the hole in their faces to justify such heresy.

Not all parishes are like this. University/college ministries tend to be orthodox.

The liberal/unorthodox/kumbaya/lite “Catholics” are dying out.
Step up, cool and orthodox Catholic kids (teens 8-30s, etc)👍

I can relate to this… Except I can’t get through one mass without hearing one bread one body in my parish…

.
This is our backup communion hymn (if the first one ends too soon) so I hear it all the time.

I’d like to see your source(s) cited on the bolded statement please. That has not at all been my experience in numerous Episcopalian churches.

our priest reminds everyone to bow before beginning the Creed. and during Lent and Advent, we kneel

Ugh, I have to hear this one every week. It is a good thing that we only have music on Sundays, otherwise I would go crazy from hearing One Bread One Body every single day of the week.

I was a member of TEC and knew priests who didn’t believe in the Resurrection.

Furthermore my niece’s father-in-law was the Bishop of a very large diocese and stated he didn’t believe in it either.

Why do you think so many members of TEC are leaving? It is not only just because they have ordained women or the homosexual issues, it’s the whole belief system. You can believe what ever you want. Of course there are still some parishes that are more orthodox, but in general the church, I am not speaking of the members, but of priests and Bishops who have departed from the Gospel as it has always been understood.

I suggest you go to VirtueOnline, it is an orthodox Anglican website with many articles going back years on some of the new ideas coming from TEC. They print actual stories of what is happening within TEC, not the moderator’s opinions.

Of course I am speaking from personal experience. I have recently met two TEC priests who are leaving. If you are a member of TEC that is fine with me, maybe you belong to a parish where they have kept the same faith, but can you deny that TEC is the same church as it was 30 years ago? You said you are going by your experiences, the same for me, except I can read about it and speak to TEC priests who agree with what I said.

Your are lucky that none of this has touched the parishes you attend. I probably should have used the word many instead of most. The Bishops and priests who feel strongly about what is happening in the church have left and are still leaving. Many are taking their congregations with them and there are many legal fights for the property. I would assume you are aware of all of these problems.

I was a member of TEC most of my life and I surely don’t feel anything but grief over what has happened. It has caused much pain for many who felt they must leave their home.

God Bless

Bernadette
