Wrong! I attend an OF Church, and our priest very often is invited to a family’s home (including mine) for dinner.

But then, you did say “almost” exclusively:D
 
you lose an item and you ask Infant Jesus to find it and you know that He will and your non Catholic friends come and ask What was that prayer again?
 
You know you’re a traditional Catholic when:

You genuflect during “He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.”

You stubbornly accept the fact that the Church allows Communion in the hand.and try not to judge those who do.

You reject the present notion of Ecumenism as Irenicism instead of honest dialogue.

You believe there are far too many Liturgical abuses and a lack of solid Catholic Catechesis in too many parishes.

You are tired of the “folk Mass” and desire Gregorian chant or something to reflect what Benedict calls “the Sacrality of the Mass”.

Kudos to one priest hearing Confession…but if only more of us would avail ourselves, than perhaps the priests would be encouraged and more would be available.
 
You know you’re a trad when you have to fight the urge to make the sign of the Cross after saying the Pledge of Allegiance, or when you hear a car alarm go off (thinking it’s an ambulance)
 
You are definetly a trad when you are the weakest link in the Our Father at your typical mass.

Being a Traditional Catholic is more than a preference for certain traditional devotions, or even for the Traditional Mass. Being a Traditional Catholics means thinking as the Church has always thought. In other words, being a Traditional Catholic means having the real faith with no admixture of liberalism or modernism which are the errors of our day.

So, how do you know if you are a Traditional Catholic? The answer is simple. 3.) Quanta Cura, Pius IX

4.) Humani Generis, Pius XII

5.) Mirari Vos, Gregory XVI

6.) Pascendi, Pius X

7.) Satis Gognitum, Leo XIII

These are some of the pre-Vatican II encyclicals that condemned many of the modern errors we have today. If you read these enyclicals and think to yourself - YES! 👍 - as you are reading them, then you know you are a Traditional Catholic.

An even better test (since it is more concise) is to read the book Liberalism is a Sin. This books does a very good job in explaining the subtle errors of Liberalism. It is a book that the Liberals of the day hated, and the Pope and Holy Office praised.

you stay kneeling until it is your time to get in line for communion, and kneel afterwards until Father sits down. My MIL’s church has everyone stand after recieving. I made mine kneel. My poor dh, he didn’t know what to do!

you have a son who wants to go to daily mass at 6:30 am and wants to be a priest, chef, monk! He has even talked one of his friends into doing it with him. He is 10, but has wanted to be a priest since FHC year.

you have kids that want to go to confession and get upset if they don’t get to go! Yes, my son has been on the verge of tears before when I have forgotten to get us there in time!

you have the BC # 0, 1, 2, 3, & adult. We homeschool. SO,we have all of the age groups covered!

The people at the Catholic bookstore know you and your children by name.

I like the Tan Books one, but I also have that problem with Sophia Institute Press and some of the other Catholic catalogues.

BTW, I am a Catholic convert and go to the OF. I recieve on the hand because that is how I was taught and am very self conscience about recieving on the tongue. It is one that I am working on. I do bow before recieving though.

  • The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want
  • How Great Thou Art

All jokes aside, that is not something good at all. Sure they have made the mode of reception a bit uh protestant, but it is still a great benefit. I lament when priests discourage receiving twice in a day or under both species. Why? Explain yourselves?
They say that the Christ is found in the smallest of fragments of the host. Sure. And? Then they will tell you that canon 917 was not intended to incourage receiving Holy Communion twice.
DEAD WRONG! The law was put in by a pious Dominican priest who precisely wanted to extend a priveledge a priest has to the faithful. Plus Saint Peter Julian Eymard said that if the Church allowed us to receive 10 times, we should receive 10 times, because if one communion does wonders, 10 will do more.

What does it mean to receive more of the species? It means you have more time with Our Lord. If the host is small and disolves fast, that fast will be the time with Him. Plus, though not the most important, but a truly important thing is the sensibility. Sensible graces are special graces that help us practice virtue with incredible ease and flight. One thing is for an ordinary grace to help you row the boat. Another is for a powerful wind of grace to take you home. It is good for there to be sensibility. It was a great error to have made people think that mystical graces are special thing and that the ordinary way is asceticism. Wrong. That was a bad divide. Our Lady was totally mystical. In fact, She received the Anunciation just at the momment when She had contemplated exactly how the Messiah must be. For Her, it was all admiration full of mystical graces.
Now we can help make conditions for mystical graces. We can build beautiful churches, make the liturgy as close as possible to the celestial liturgies and the sort. Don’t underestimate these things.

I obviously refered to receiving under the species of the Blood.

And as to your little quote down there, SSPX is in the same situation as before. They are still out side the door. Just that the door was unlocked. They still have to come in.
