when you feel like an alien from outer space because even Catholics don’t seem to know why it is you want to spend time in the Real Presence…

(the real what…??? ) they seem to be thinking…

When you wear either a mantilla or chapel veil to watch a televised Mass! Not that I do that, but I’m seriously considering it.

you think of the motto you’d use if you ever were made bishop/cardinal/pope.
Mine is Apocalypse 22.12.

Yup, and I’ve done that papal name bit, too!
Callixtus.

…you have hundreds of blessed medals in a drawer.
…you go to Mass every single day.
…you go to confession every single day.
…you go to so many church events, Masses and Adoration that someone tells you that you should take a cot to church (or at least the church basement) and live there. 😃
You know you’re a Traditional Catholic when you wonder why a church only has one priest hearing confession.
Sounds like something for another thread - “You know you go to a traditional church when,…”

…not one, not two, not even three, but all four priests hear confessions! At the same time! 😃

PAX TIBI!! Being a Traditionalist Catholic is a very grateful to our beloved pope-ST.Pius X also to our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI.

to be a Traditional Catholic first, you know how to speak, and pronounce latin correctly(not so quite),attending holy mass everyday. In attending Holy Mass, the ff. are observed:

1.attend confession
2.fast for 1 hour
3.pray before the mass
4.wear proper dress
5.if you are female, wear the traditional veil
6.your hand is always at prayer position(in tradition this practice aquired grace and blessing from heaven)
7.kneel from the sanctus and canon to final doxology also in Agnus Dei
8.recieve communion by mouth and kneel
9.after the mass pray the prayer of Pope Leo XIII

Third, attend also the Lauds, and Vespers. And also praying the rosary and visit the Blessed Sacrament.

Benedicamus Domino.

Hi IVDAE,

What do you mean by “prayer position,” please? Hands flat and pressed together, or folded? I’d be interested to learn more about this.
Thanks!

…You think you’re more Catholic than the Pope.
…You think the “real” Church ended at Vatican II.

Yes…because denying the one True Church is soooo traditionally Catholic, as is bashing our Holy Father.

How about instead:

You found out the ‘hard way’ that Long John Silvers serves chicken strips one Friday.

You thought those fish sticks tasted odd, and had a funny texture.

You felt betrayed by Long John Silvers.

It is the hands flat and pressed together

LOVE this thread:thumbsup:

When you picture the perfect teenage relationship as going to mass and adoration together.

When your ipod is full of gregorian chants and what your friends call “church music.”

When you are sitting in public school and spend boring lectures planning where in the room a crucifix would look best.

When you keep a rosary in your pocket and then are sad when your dress or skirt doesn’t have a pocket.😦

You note with disdain that Captain D’s has a special every day except Friday.

And entertain that there may be some kind of anti-Catholic plot behind it rather then just shrewd business practice.

When you cross yourself or tip your cap when you drive by a Catholic Church.
When you cross yourself and say a prayer for those interred there when you drive by a cemetary.
You can remember when kids would poke fun at latin responses by saying"Dominus Nabisco…Shredded wheat for breakfast".
You can laugh at recordings of Bishop Sheen’s old jokes(I’m especially fond of the one about the lumberjack in the confessional!)
You have trouble getting the hymn “Pange Lingua” out of your head after hearing it on EWTN!!!
Because it took you months to learn the new Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary!
You gag when you’ve accidentally eaten meat on Friday!!!
When you can try to lighten up a fun thread like this one when some can’t stand when others are having a good time with a little humor!!!:D:D

I’ll start:

The other day, I went to the movies. When I got into the theater, I started walking to the other side where there were more seats. When I got to the middle, I stopped and was one second away from genuflecting to the movie screen! I luckily caught myself and laughed as I sat down.

Any experiences you guys have?
Having to cut around Pictures of Our Lord, The Blessed Mother and the Saints when they are on envelopes and stationary when you receive mail from religious organizations. I feel like it is disrespect to rip it up and throw it away.

Keeping religious calenders and not throwing them away.

Similar thing happens to me when I’m driving. I always make the sign of the Cross when walking or driving by a catholic church, (you know, the Body of Christ is there)

I sometimes see the protestant churches with some similar catholic motiffs in front and I start to make the sign of the Cross, I have to remind myself that there are only a few catholic churches in and around town.

When you’re in the car and 5 minutes to your destination that nagging feeling in the back of your mind tells you that your rosary is not in your pocket.

You exclaim “Mother of God !!!” as you make a u-turn. Your wife wonders if you left your wallet or a vital organ at home; you tell her that you forgot your rosary and, she is speehless the the rest of the way there and back.

:D:D:D:D

Finish the sign, and say a little prayer for those within. Maybe that might be the only “push” one of them needs. 😃
