You’re on: Explain it to me.You have to explain to your fellow Catholics that meat is still not allowed on Friday.

Love it!!You have holy water in your First Aid kit, along with a blessed candle and a crucifix.
If that is true (and not just a joke), such self-righteous mockery has no place at Mass.My brother is a dead giveaway since I gave him a couple of bamboo backscratchers, the ones with the little “hand” and he holds them out sideways in his parish when they start grabbing each other for the Our Father
You know you’re traditional Catholic when this happens and then you say grace over your popcorn and soda.I’ll start:
The other day, I went to the movies. When I got into the theater, I started walking to the other side where there were more seats. When I got to the middle, I stopped and was one second away from genuflecting to the movie screen! I luckily caught myself and laughed as I sat down.
Or order from the vegetarian menu, yet deny that you are a hippie. You know you are a traditional Catholic when you eat Japanese food on Fridays.
Completely agreeIf that is true (and not just a joke), such self-righteous mockery has no place at Mass.
And to me.You’re on: Explain it to me.

I already know. You know you’re a traditional Catholic male if you’ve ever pondered what name you would take if you were elected Pope (and have changed your mind about this most pressing issue)
You’re on: Explain it to me.

There is one caveat: meat can be substituted with another penance on Fridays outside of Lent, except on Good Friday.Canon 1251: Abstinence from meat, or from some other food as determined by the Episcopal Conference, is to be observed on all Fridays, unless a solemnity should fall on a Friday. Abstinence and fasting are to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
This is so true, I always get asked why I leave our Christmas decorations up until Epiphany (and what Epiphany is for that matter)You know you’re a Traditional Catholic When:
You’re the last one praying the Prayer to St. Michael in the pew after a Novus Ordo.
Your calender has scribbles all over it that say things like “Ember Day!” or “Request off Michaelmas!”
You have to regularly explain why you’re not ordering a burger tonight, when your friend saw you eat one last night (which was Thursday)
Your Christmas decorations are up past New Years
You have holy water in your First Aid kit, along with a blessed candle and a crucifix.
You let your cats outside and pray “St Francis please protect them!”Your cats wear “St Francis Pray For Us” medals.
I wrote this when I was still Catholic, but this is still something I live with. If I thought it was bad before, now I attend an Orthodox parish who’re on the Old Calender still. My Christmas decorations are up from mid December (because I just can’t wait till Nativity) till late January lol. This is so true, I always get asked why I leave our Christmas decorations up until Epiphany (and what Epiphany is for that matter)
