Being a Traditional Catholic is more than a preference for certain traditional devotions, or even for the Traditional Mass. Being a Traditional Catholics means thinking as the Church has always thought. In other words,*** being a Traditional Catholic means having the real faith with no admixture of liberalism or modernism which are the errors of our day.***
Very well said.:clapping:

You have a huge collection of mantilla veils

You are sitting in the confessional for 10 minutes before you realize it’s not longer held there.

You miss the smell of charcoal and incense.

Oh and a side note to angry poster: I DO have weak knees, and my ex-husband always prayed with is head tilted to one side because he was DEAF IN ONE EAR and could hear the priest that way. Besides, if you were praying you wouldn’t be worried about head tilting because your eyes would be CLOSED.

You know you’re a Traditional Catholic when…

…the same group of people praying mass for you are also the same group of people that produced the music your listening to on your zune or ipod. (Gotta love Chant)

When you are late for a family lunch because you felt that you just had to go to confession - and you know you’re from a family of traditional Catholics when they totally understand 🙂

…your Angelus Press Missal bears a handwritten inscription and personal blessing of a recently reinstated Society bishop.

You must be a Traditional (I think that is better to say “hardcore” 😃 hahah) Catholic if you realized the difference “eleison” and “miserere” since you had only 4 years.
You must be a Traditional Catholic if your grandmother says “Dominus vobiscum” instead of “Hello”.
You must be a Traditional Catholic if you collected the alms in your high school because of “church needs”…
You know you’re a Traditional Catholic when you’re washing your hands and saying “Amplius lava me ab iniquitate mea et a peccato meo munda me.” or something like that. 😛
You know you’re a TC when you’re have around 50 prayer books and 30 little Bible books at home…
You know you’re a TC when you regret why there is no 100 psalms more…

You make sure you always sit on the side of the church so when you genuflect upon entering the pew you’re directly facing the tabernacle.

You’re glad you family doesn’t visit much because its already hard enough convincing them you don’t worship Mary or the saints and if they saw your very Catholic flat it would make the battle twice as hard.

You say “DOGMA!” and the “conservative” Catholics say “RADICAL!”

Or, when you say “ordinary magisterium”, and they all say “Majority of Theologians!”

🤷
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Conservative Catholics are usually traditional Catholics. For instance, Tim Staples is a Conservative.

… your husband is watching a movie from the 1950’s and says, “Hey, honey, they said they were singing Vespers, listen!” and you say “No, that sounds like the chanting from the mass liturgy. Plus, Divine Office is usually chanted with one note only for the psalms.”

… when you’re watching “Ever After” with Drew Barrymore, and during the wedding scene at the end of the movie, you think, "Why is the bride walking down the aisle to a chant of Kyrie Elision? One would think she would have been at the front of the church long before that!’ "

… when you are watching ‘Monty Python’ and hear the monks chanting “Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem”, and your next thought is, “Why are they doing mortification to a line from a funeral? Is this some kind of prayer for the souls in purgatory?”

You know you’re a Traditional Catholic when

You pray the Last Gospel after an OF Mass.

You own a Douay-Rheims Bible.

You’re on a first name basis with the woman who runs the Catholic bookstore at the parish.

When you say ‘in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit’ in latin just because you can:p

You go to a OF Mass and you start to kneel at the Sanctus, then realize everyone else is still standing :o

you accidently say “Amen” at the end of the Pledge of Allegience in the 8th grade

your embarrased b/c you didn’t put bobby pins in to hold your mantilla on your head

you are the last one praying and praying for so long the priest says the concluding rites for the end of Mass…😊

When you use sentences from church hymns to complete your creative sentences homework for English class.

When you cross yourself every time you hear an emergency vehilcle.

When you have caught yourself crossing yourself after the Pledge of Allegiance at school on almost a daily basis.

You’re sad when your parents do not let you go to Night Prayer at your church every night.:gopray2:
