This sounds REALLY good!!! But I’m a bit worried about running the cooker with no liquid in it. 😊

~Liza
Juices will come out of the chicken itself. Crock pot cooking usually requires less liquid than normal recipes, anyway. Even if it starts out looking “dry” it won’t stay that way long. And it will not damage the pot.

4-5 chicken breast cut-up
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup

Add above to crock pot; cook on low 5-6 hours. Pour over rice, mashed potatoes or bread.

1 pork roast
1 can of jellied cranberries
1 envelope of dry onion soup mix
1 can of beef broth

Add above ingredients; cook on low 8-10 hours.

Yum, this sounds good!

What would you serve with it?

OMG that sounds SOOOOO good!!! I love pork with cranberries!

When you say pork roast - what cut do you usually use? Loin? Shoulder?

This thread is dangerous!! 😃

I have a pork roast in the freezer and this sounds like a great meal for Monday! Thanks!

Brocoli & Cheese Casserole

1 jar of Cheese Whiz
1 bag of frozen brocoli pieces
1 stick of maragine
2 cups of uncooked minute rice
1 can of cream of celery soup

I microwave the maragine and cheese whiz in the crock pot, add the remaining ingredients and then cook on low 4-5 hours

We are cheap and not too picky so we use whatever happens to be available. I wouldn’t waste my money on a center cut port roast since most cuts still come out tender. I have even tried it with chops.

Can you tell I used to work all day and still have to have dinner prepared. Not any more, but I still love my crock pot!!

Honey Garlic Pork

Any cut pork roast (or chops, spareribs, etc.) 2-3 lbs.
1/2 cup honey
1/4 soy sauce
3 tbsp. cider vinegar
3-5 cloves of garlic
1/4 tsp. pepper

Add all the above ingredients except pork, mix together, then add pork and cook on low for 8 hours

Hi Church

Get a bag of frozen meatballs, grape jelly, and chilli sauce (sounds crazy right?)

Put the meatballs in the crock, and cover with equal parts of grape jelly and chilli sauce.

Cook on high or low, stirring occasionally, until it’s the meatballs are cooked through.

Grab some tooth picks and be the hit of your next social get together with the most incredible meatballs ever. SUPER EASY AND SUPER DELICIOUS!!

God Bless
Nate

PS. This thread is changing my life!

Add in some black beans and/or meat (beef, chicken, sausage even) and you have a MEAL.

The nice thing about crock pots is that they can make any cut of meat tender. You don’t have to get expensive cuts for this to work well. I’m very frugal with my grocery money, and I buy the cheapest cuts of meat out there, especially if I know that I can crock it and make it taste good, too.

incidentally any of these recipes can be done in a covered dutch oven/roaster, in an oven set at 250 degrees. In the wintertime it will heat up your kitchen too. You can buy a covered dutch oven/roaster in speckled blue enamel at Walmart for about $12. Best investment I ever made! (And if you are home and want to cook in it faster—make sure there is enough fluid to keep things moist and turn the heat up to 375-400 degrees and VOILA! Roasts in HALF the time of baking or roasting! About an hour!) And for those who use wine to cook with—(get regular drinking wine–cooking wine is too salty and $$$) a roaster chicken stuffed with celery and carrots, and a nice white wine with onions and mushrooms and your family will think you are a french chef!

That sounds awesome.
Guess what we’re having next week!😉

We like sandwiches made with pulled pork.
Pork roast
Cider vinegar
Red pepper

I use about a cup or so of vinegar (you can always start smaller and add more during the cooking process), sprinkle well with the pepper. Let it cook all day, shred the pork, serve, topped with coleslaw on your favorite buns. This is always a big hit at birthday parties too!

Pulled Pork Variation: Buy a can of Chipotles in Adobo and throw a couple in the pot with a teaspoon or two of the sauce. Chipotles are smoked jalapenos, they come packed in a dark red sauce. I leave 'em in when i shred the pork but you can pull them out like bay leaves if you don’t want the heat (If they haven’t disintegrated)

This would be in addition the vinegar or other acid of your choice. (no, not that kind!)

We do a variation of this one, too. We will cook up some rice and put the sauce in it. We also take a can of refried beans and bake them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, then add the sauce and cheese and bake a few minutes longer (i.e. long enough to get the kids rounded up for supper.)

DH and the kids usually eat theirs in burrito form. I figure I already have enough carbs in the rice, beans and sauce, so I just mix it all together.

I think I know what is for supper on Tuesday. 👍
