St Therese of Lisieux as I try to imitate her way of doing little things with great love - she is my favorite.

There are many others I’ve like as well including St Maria Goretti, St John the Evangelist, St John the Baptist, St Francis of Asssi, St Elizabeth of Hungary, etc for various reasons & concerns.

Undoubtedly Ss. Michael, Luke, Ambrose of Milan, and Basil the Great!

The Archangel because he is our defender.

The Evangelist because his Gospel is the record of hymns, canticles, songs, and rejoicing. He alone has the prodigal son in full, and gives the most detailed Passion account. The way he records our blessed Saviour looking to St. Peter during the trial is most chilling and saddening. Luke’s manner of reporting how Peter wept is beautiful…

The Bishop because of his blending of Western logic (without legalism) and Eastern mystical tradition (without dualism). Those works of Ambrose relating to the Holy Spirit, the Incarnation, Repentance, and the Mysteries are most glorious. His commentary/exposition on Luke is really amazing.

The Great because of his warmth of spirit, his wholesome character, and his light-filled metaphors. He just gets right to the heart of everything… 😃

St. Francis de Sales is probably my favorite so far; I am impressed by his struggle with Calvinism (and subsequent book “Catholic Controversies”). He could be both gentle and severe, and he loved people like children regardless of their intellectual status. I still have a lot of reading to do, but in many ways he reminds me of my favorite author George MacDonald (if GMD had been a French Roman Catholic bishop, not likely ).

Also, de Sales is the patron saint of writers, which is what I’d like to do if I didn’t have a “real” job. 😃

My favorites are:

St. Francis de Sales
St. Francis of Assisi
St. Josemaria Escriva
St. Padre Pio
St. Benedict
St. Alphonsus Ligouri

just a question for I Need Helpp. What does “De Facto Atheist” mean?

Saint Agnes, Saint Benedict, Saint Hugh of Cluny, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, etc. 🙂

I can’t pick just one, but I can give you a couple of my favorites.
Blessed Virgin
St. Joan of Arc
St. Cecilia
St. Ignatius Loyola
St. Madeline Sophie Barat
St. Rose Philippine Duchesne
St. Michael the Archangel
St. Thomas Aquinas
St. Dymphna
Kateri Tekakwitha

I have a special love for St Thérèse of Lisieux, and I have a deep admiration for St Maximilian Kolbe. Right now I seem to be drawn to St Bernadette of Lourdes, although I’m not sure why. I expect it will become clear to me in the fulness of time. Among my other favorites are St Faustina, Padre Pio, and St Peter.

I love all the saints! The ones that are my patrons and have the closest relationship with are:

St. Michael, the Archangel (always there for me and my family to help during spiritual warfare)

St. Jude (always there for hopeless situations)

St. Joseph (wonderful example - helps me be a good “head of the household”)

**Blessed Virgin Mary **(the Mother of God - She is always there to help and pray for us and to bring us close to Her Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord)

My Guardian Angel (Always by my side)

Also, I’ll ask for the prayers of St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Gabriel, St. Raphael, St. Benedict of Nursia, St. Lucy, St. Patrick… especially on their feast day

Mine’s St. Francis of Assisi. You gotta love his legendary humility! I can imagine him in heaven right now as he reads this thread, giving thanks to God and being very happy that his name doesn’t occur as frequently as that of the other saints. 😃 He probably considers himself the least of all the saints right now, even in heaven. (Having read “The Little Flowers of St. Francis” I strongly feel that this is the case) 😉

To the praise and glory of the Holy Trinity. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam. :signofcross:

This is an interesting one for me. I knew that I had kept my middle name, James, because back during confirmation I did not want to take another middle name. So I went with St. James the Less. After confirmation, I never really thought about it. I stopped going to church, didn’t even really consider myself Catholic anymore. Well, when I came back, I had to almost redo my research for my confirmation name.

After doing that research, I am absolutely sure that the Holy Spirit was guiding me with that choice. Whenever I read about St. James the Less I feel such a relation with him. Being the brother of the Lord, I feel like I am also brother of the Lord, as all people should. When I read the book of James, it just hits me like a ton of bricks.

James 1:2-3
“2 Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials,* 3 for you know that the testing* of your faith produces perseverance.”

James 2:14-18
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? 17 So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 Indeed someone might say, “You have faith and I have works.” Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.

I also enjoy Augustine very much. His trials of the flesh help me to persevere. His philosophy is beautiful, and he gives hope to all sinners of a wonderful journey to and with Christ.

I fell in love spiritually with St. Faustina through reading her diary. Read it and you will be transformed!

Hand down the Blessed Mother she is awesome!!

But my second favorite is St Jude, he is for the Hopeless. I pray to him ALOT:D

I’m partial to Our Lady, St Joseph, St Michael, St Theresa of Avila and St Catherine of Siena, there’s many in truth. Those stay on my mind always.

Peace
